🚫 DON'T Visualize Success – Do THIS Instead | @shadezahrai #shorts

Here’s what the research tells us…

If you only visualize yourself achieving the goal, you may unintentionally sabotage your ability to achieve it.

Yup, you read that right!

Research suggests that indulging in a desired future visualization actually saps energy (Gollwitzer & Brandstätter, 1997), and other studies have found that visualizing success predicts poor achievement (Oettingen & Mayer, 2002).

Who would have thought?!

Instead, you need to also visualize the effort required, and how you’ll overcome obstacles.

Two steps to help you visualize obstacles and increase your chances of achieving your goals:

STEP 1: Anticipate friction. “What challenges am I likely to face?”
STEP 2: Plan your solutions. “If this happens, then I will [fill in the blank].

Have you ever done this before? If you have, how did it work out for you?

  1. If we plan for all if else along the path, we will need a lifetime to just plan it out

  2. That is 100% correct your this video made me subscribe. I myself do that mistake most of the time we tend to visualise our success which eats precious time which can be used in taking required steps.

  3. Visualization without working towards it is called 'day dreaming'. Visualising when you are on the edge of giving up your goal motivates you to cling on.

  4. "First say to yourself what you would be; and then do what you have to do." —Epictetus

  5. Friction is the origin of life or starting a fire 🤔 I visualise 2 much , I leave it Blanc , contain my energy it's al Maya 😁✌️🌈

  6. I'm typically kinda that person who visualises more about future success but give effort less 😔😒 ! So now I'm practicing less visualization.

  7. i dont agree with this research. there are other factors involved that have not been considered here.

  8. Visualizing rewards will distract you and cause confidence loss by comparing and doubting yourself if you only focus on the icing on the cake. 💯

  9. I want to see you and Vishen from mind valley get together you two remind me so much of each other
