3 Interior Designers Transform The Same Dining Room | Space Savers | Architectural Digest

We gave interior designers Noz Nozawa, Erick Garcia, and Mandy Cheng a photo of the same empty dining room—then asked each of them to create a design for it in their particular style, however they pleased. Three artists, one canvas, each bringing something different to the space. See which designer comes closest to creating your ideal formal dining room.

  2. I love to read the comments.
For me, this was an interesting episode because I switched in the middle!
Erick’s room was horrible for me. It wouldn’t go in a home. It was ultra industrial…commercial/institutional even. The walls and furniture were not inviting to linger over a dinner, which is hopefully the purpose of a dining room. The louvered doors seemed too dainty for the rest of his choices.
Noz had me until the dismembered hands. 😳 I loved the wallpaper, but after that I got freaked out. Not imagining eating in there.
In the end, I would choose Mandy. Her design was inviting and comfortable for fun dinner parties. It was the only room that had balance and seemed functional. IMO

  3. Noz honestly transcends the boundaries of interior design. As someone in the design field each time I'm blown away with how she thinks outside of the box. She doesn't create livable spaces, rather, she creates art.

  4. I wasn’t expecting Erick’s idea to bring the lights down so they don’t distract people from everything else.

  5. I imagine the spaces' ambience would harmonize with the type of food being served food…each designer explained that perfectly with their designs

  6. The triangles and weird wallpaper and creepy chandelier gets an F.
The round corners and mirror, kinda boring. D
Stone walls are a good idea, giant doors very unpractical, no glass, no screens? No. C-

  7. Looooooove this series its so helpful to learn how professional interior designers approach their projects

  8. I love each of you your designer transformation , in this dinner room a look sou beautiful . Each of you choose different designer and came out sou gorgeous .Congratulation guys you did a amazing job 😂🥰

  9. Is Noz on crack?!??!! Even in a hotel lobby, that would hurt my eyes. All those statement pieces cancel each other out. There's a good way to do maximalism but she's just over the top for the sake of being over the top. Love Mandy's except the checkerboard wallpaper. Erick's chic room looks like a page out of Mallorca, Puglia, Italy – old world classic European charm….

  10. Explain to me why go to the expense of putting in a large custom window then covering half of it with a large piece of furniture.

  11. All three or nasty. One is way to chaotic. There is no balance or hierarchy of all those elements.
One has the warmth of a monastery that take an oath of starkness and not in a good way.
The last one, ok the back of a dinning room chairs should never be equal to of lower that the height of a table. I'm not sure Good Will Drab as a style will catch on.
