3 Minute DIY Neoprene FaceMask / How To Make A Face Mask / Printable Mask Pattern for Kids & Adults

I created this new printable DIY Face Mask template for all of you who want to make dozens and dozens of face masks for their friends and family. I wanted to create a design that takes less time to put together, is even more comfortable to wear, and requires zero elastic.

The stretch design of this homemade face mask makes it extra comfortable to wear and doesn’t require elastics, hair bands, bias tape, or any extra supplies at all. Plus, the design is reversible for the fashion-conscious.

I prefer making this DIY face mask from neoprene fabric for its durability, breathability, and thick nature but you could also make this DIY mask from an old t-shirt or other stretch fabric in a pinch. After all, any mask is better than no mask.

HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR MASK:
While neoprene can be machine washed in cold water, I recommend hand washing. Lay flat to dry. To quickly disinfect, simply iron the mask with steam.

  1. All the masks are great, but the biggest problem I believe is wrong with most of them is having the highest quality filtration fabric or the right inserts from all those that my be a non compliance to medical recommendations needed, for the use of asthma, or any health medical problems,Seriously just looking pretty dosnt really do justice, needs the best quality insert filters,as well,Thankyou to all those making masks
    No disrespect,đź’ś

  2. I really need to try this mask. Thank you so much for this great tutorial!! Could you please share the specifics used on your Brother Serger?? I have that serger also. How many needles 1 or 2? How many thread spools?? What were your exact settings PLEASE??

  3. Bought my pattern and it's printing now, it's such a GREAT, QUICK, easy process. Can't wait to start making my mask for myself and my loved ones.

  4. Great tutorial if you weren’t using neoprene. Neoprene isn’t breathable, therefore when you breathe in, the air is getting sucked in AROUND the mask making it pointless. It would work better if you used regular material.

  5. I just read that when they make neoprene it has toxins. They say it is safe to wear, but not sure if you want to breath it in all day. I think it may off gas when getting really hot

    From wiki.
Some people are allergic to neoprene while others can get dermatitis from thiourea residues left from its production. The most common accelerator in the vulcanization of polychloroprene is ethylene thiourea (ETU), which has been classified as reprotoxic. The European rubber industry project called SafeRubber focused on alternatives to the use of ETU.[21]
