  1. The fish is burned, not blackened. (I’d like my prize now) 😂😉

  2. Re. half tins of random ingredients lurking in the fridge: cook it all and it will be a delicious addition to another meal versus use half a can and chuck the rest out one day.

  3. Those Aroyo's look fantastic, going to make them for lunch tomorrow! With the pasta, I've always used a fork and a spoon, twirl the pasta with the fork with the spoon on the end so the pasta doesn't slide off. I also do the same with chicken noodle soups at the satay shops.

  4. Hi Andy, I’m wondering what you mean by ‘good quality’ tinned tomatoes? Is there a specific brand that you would recommend?

  5. I have two little pieces of kauri that I use for chopping/crushing garlic. Easy to clean and kauri wood doesn’t taint. Love your videos Andy. You make us Kiwis proud!

  6. They all look so good.
Looks like I will be adding a package of corn tortillas to the frig. Because, who knows.
    ; )

  7. My Nono used a spoon to twirl, so I do to and therefore give zero cares in the world to people who say otherwise 😂

  8. With the Shep avos, I use a peeler to skin them, and it works a treat.

  9. Hi Andy love your videos, I was wondering if you could do a video about good practices for your groceries and what you do to manage your perishable items. I haven’t seen any videos of this type on YouTube and I’m sure we would learn a lot from you. Bests,

  10. A trick I learned years ago was to pop a couple of marshmallows (normal sized) into brown and caster sugars.
I popped about 1 cup of marshmallows into my two containers. This prevents clumping! I can truly guarantee your caster and brown sugars will be free-flowing.
Re: Prawn & Black bean sauce – At a pinch you can use the absorption method for cooking rice (for one or two) in the microwave. Use the same quantity of rice/water in a microwave-safe bowl, cover with paper towel/s and nuke for 5-10 minutes leave it alone, then fork through to separate the grains. If need be, you can nuke if not quite cooked through once plated. Takes no time at all.
Other alternative – I've seen pre-cooked rice in packets in the supermarket, along with frozen cooked rice (disclaimer – NEITHER of which I've ever used… and no judgement from me if you do)

Definitely going with the Pita Arayes first, then the tacos, Amatriciana and the Maryland roast chicken. Might go beef or chicken and black bean as a substitute as husband is allergic to shellfish.
    Awesome recipes and super easy!

  11. oh btw i believe areyas are pronounced like a-rye-uhs (instead of a-ray-uhs) because they hail from places like lebanon, syria, and palestine and Es are pronounced differently! They're very delicious and convenient to make a big batch ahead of time and freeze them, especially if you make your own naan

  12. I don’t know if it’s a myth but in Mexico we don’t heat tortillas direct to the flame and worst if it is burner flame , butane gas or propane , our mothers say it’s toxic , so we used a comal or a pan . I have no clue if it’s true but we avoid the direct flame . Cheers from Mexico

  13. Am I the only Aussie that doesn't eat avo toast ? I mean like I eat avos and I eat toast but not just that… I think the closest I get is the abc (avo bacon chicken) or blat (bacon lettuce avo tomato)foccacias but very few places make them any more

  14. Twirling… both. Quick evening meal… Chicken Supremes with steamed veg and cheese sauce.

  15. What do you suggest for electric stoves? You can't really use a wok with that
