  1. Ooh when you hit those young tomatoes with water at the end I almost unliked it… no way I do that in 6a – blight ensues /immediately/

  2. BeerGarden friend your garden is very beautiful and don't message your plants because I think you don't take care of plants very well

  3. Dhiren, it was very nice to hear from you, I also have a small garden and I have full hope that you will do it and

  4. I just got the Dramm Touch‘N Flow Revolver Spray Gun (and quite a few other goodies!) from your shop, and now I'm eyeing that Dramm 30" Select Rain Wand! I also really want to get some ollas (: I'd love for you to make an epic version of that watering can with the modifications you mentioned wanting!

  5. In my experience, overhead watering of roses is a sure fire way to getting black spot and powdery mildew. It really isn't a good idea to get the leaves wet, or allow water to splash from the soil onto the leaves. My favorite way to water is with a soaker hose fastened down with landscape staples under the mulch. Turn it on for however long, shut it off, easy peasy.

  6. Hey Kevin. I have a watering can like yours and find it easier to turn it around and water my seedling trays from the back instead of the spout.

  7. This is a dumb question but, how can you tell if the soil is wet? They always say to check by sticking a finger in there. For some reason though, I feel like my fingers cannot tell the difference between wet and dry soil unless the soil is, like, BONE dry and blowing in the wind.

  8. Thank you so much for all these tips!! Epic Gardening has helped me so much and gotten me started on my gardening journey. Could we get a video on Marigold and/or Calendula?

  9. Also don't water in the middle of day. Ideal watering is before sunset so the water has time to fully saturate the soil over night.

  10. Does anyone have a tip for potted plants that start to solidify on top? (Also what causes this?) it happens to indoor and outdoor, mulched or not. For instance when I water one plant, it sits on top for much longer than the other pots, and when it finds it ways down one hole, all the water “drains” through that hole and reaches the bottom before it reaches the other half of the pot. I can feel in the smaller containers one half might still be dry. I have to physically tip pots at times or even poke my own holes in a circle around the plant. Raking the surface seems only a. temporary fix.
Any tips to make this easier for myself?

  11. That retractable hose would've been amazing when I was working at a nursery because I HATED tugging a 75ft hose around whenever I had to water ANYTHING AT ALL

  12. Ive got 400ft of hose with a wand on the end. But I mostly plant in 45-50ft x 4ft rows

  13. I'm glad to hear you say "gardener's intuition." I've only really been growing anything for the past few years. Although, I've been thinking about it for a number of years that borders on ridiculous. A lot of what I find myself doing has felt like instinct. So, thanks for confirming that I'm not kidding myself! ????

  14. I honestly don't mind watering on the leaves, because if you think about it in nature a plant has leaves not just for capturing the sunlight, but the structure of a leaf is in a way that allows water to drip down to the drip zone, where the roots are of a plant. I still hit the roots for sure, but getting the leaves wet mimics what happens in nature and allows water to drip down from the leaves right where the plant actually needs it (after all it grew that way for a reason) we dont know where the roots are, but the plant does!

  15. Also of note, keep the weather in mind. If you live in a dry area you'll likely have to water on a regular schedule, but if it rains often in your area then you run the risk of over-watering if you don't account for it.

  16. Do you feel it's important to water branches/leaves such as on vines? Or is it best and most efficient just to water near the roots?

  17. I recently purchased a copper watering can from a local antique shop. Doing my best to upcycle as much as possible. Love all these watering tips !! Thank you ! ????????????♻️????

  18. Kevin, just wanted to say that you guys have inspired me to start over 150 seeds this year! I did maybe 25-30 last year. Love the videos and the information you provide.

  19. I have a slightly novel use for my watering can. Whenever i do a water change on my aquariums, i do it straight into a watering can. Don't let that fishy fertilizer go to waste!

  20. Kevin..,Dude if u pumped out 10 a day id watch every single one that evening even when you tell me something you’ve already taught me video before, you always make the FULL episode informative and very valuable informatively for me and my family, thanks epic gardening❤️????????

  21. Hey Kevin, I think you forgot to mention the PPM and pH of the tap water vs rain water. Could you go over a video explaining this as well? I think it's important to know because I'm in San Diego too and pH is 8.0 out of the tap and goes up to 8.8 after chlorine gasoff. Thanks!
