90s House Renovation on a Tight Budge | Windy City Rehab | HGTV

Alison takes a huge risk when she buys an oddball, boxlike house from the 90s. A flooded basement is just the beginning of a myriad of problems she encounters, so Alison must find a way to bring big design to a house rapidly hurdling over budget while still making a profit.

Interior designer Alison Victoria combines upscale design with a passion for her hometown as she buys and restores old homes in Chicago. For these neglected homes in historic neighborhoods, she works to restore dignity to the homes while adding more square footage, style and modern twists. But each house has a past, and she never knows what challenges lie hidden beneath the decades of paint and plaster. #HGTV #WindyCityRehab #VideoSpecificTag

  1. While the interior renovation is very classy, the exterior looks disproportionate with that A-frame on top. The original form of the building was unique and imposing, and would have been in the plus column if I were considering purchasing it as a dwelling.

  2. Despite the economic downturn, I still manage to make $35,000 every 10 days after investing $3,500.. God bless Expert Mr. Michael Allen

  3. A beautiful home, but I'd never have a marble backsplash in the kitchen especially behind the stove. Marble soaks up grease and spills from cooking and preparing food. A marble shower surround would be even harder to keep clean.

  4. A pocket door or doors that slide beside the TV is the way to hide the TV. Barn doors belong in barns. It has been a trend along with shiplap and will be out of style in a few years.

  5. Black walls and accents are soooo 2018. It's dated already. Love everything else

  6. Just Beautiful! I'm not a fan of the whole barn door thing–don't know why. BUT great work, thank you for sharing it!

  7. Ah yes – nothing screams Old Chicago like shiplap, ugly sliding barn doors and that classic basic white girl styling of brick painted white with black windows and accents.

  8. I started off really liking what she was doing: the kitchen counters, the fireplace, etc. Things started to go off the rails when the barn door went in, then along came the shiplap, the beat-to-hell closet interior, and of course the painted brick. Awful!

  9. Some parts of this house looks exactly like the one she did later in "Rock the Block", I mean, the painting, the vintage drawers, the floors, it's just the same, so what, no creativity here??
