  1. Thanks Helix for sponsoring! Go to https://helixsleep.com/minimalmom for 20% off your mattress, plus two free pillows! And THANK YOU for watching! I hope you have a great day!!! – Dawn (and my mom's name is LouAnn if you want to leave a birthday message for her!)

  2. I throw the shower liner into the washing machine on gentle after soaking in diluted vinegar solution. Happy Birthday Nana!

  3. 11:50 I boil vinegar in my (electric) kettle to remove mineral scale inside.

When I’m done with the vinegar, I tip it down the bathroom floor drains. It reduces any stagnant water smells.

  4. Pass the parcel used to be a standard party game when I was a kid in the UK. One variation was to put a slip of paper inside each layer with a "forfeit" written on it. The person who has the parcel in their hands when the music stopped had to carry out the little task before the game continued. This could be something like "recite a nursery rhyme" , "pat your head and rub your tum at the same time", "toss the parcel into the air long enough to clap 3 times before you catch it", "imitate an animal". Adds to the fun and prolongs the length of the game.

  5. Oh! … and was going to mention, I love how your mom (Nana) has such a great relationship with your kids… neither of my grandmothers (nor my grandpa) learned how to speak English…and one lived 14 hours drive away… so I didn't have a relationship at all with any of them… Being Intentional about having a bond with one's kids and grandkids is 'key'…and wanting one too!

  6. I wish I had known about your advice years ago and not had the stuff shuffle before the cleaning before the party! The silver lining is I discovered kids -guest kids-LOVE getting to help blow up balloons and decorate the yard, so after I was actually running that late for a party one year and the kids arrived before I got that finished, we did that by popular demand after that. I also found out by accident that toddlers like frozen peas and corn in little treat cups for their party. Don't ask, I just went with it. The parents liked that it wasn't candy and their normally fussy eaters were gobbling vegetables.

  7. When I find out your Mom is only 6 years older than me and I realize I might be too old for your channel. LOL!!!!! My Mom will be 89 in December and I’m already getting ideas for her 90th. Happy Birthday to her. Thanks for the tips.

  8. Every time I click on one of your videos, I end up decluttering and getting rid of things I really don’t need. ( thank you!) I work part time as a sub, and this summer, I am tackling my home office. It will probably take all summer, but I have to do it! And, great job on painting without using tape and cloths on the floor. Wow!

  9. Wonderful job! I hope the party was fun. One reflection about the comment that kids who leave things out don’t value their stuff — kids with ADHD do struggle to remember even valuable things, and it can damage self-esteem to be nagged and shamed for this. I think a less drastic way of managing the situation may be needed for these kids.

  10. I am so still using my electric blanket. The days are getting into the 70’s but nights are still in the 40’s and I freeze below 70 degrees…I love living in Colorado though lol/

  11. Everything looks so nice! And i LOVE that paint choice. Both curtains look good with it.

  12. What brand of sink vanity is that in the bathroom you painted? I need something like that in my small restroom. I love watching your videos…

  13. The new bathroom paint color and shower curtain are so pretty! And you are an amazingly good painter!

  14. We have 2 white shower liners and add a little bleach when we wash them every other month. Nice and fresh!

  15. I buy fabric shower curtain liners. They aren’t hard to find. They can get mildewed, so you might have to wash it every other week or even every week. They also aren’t waterproof, so you do get a little water on the edge of the tub and possibly a small amount on the floor, but a bath mat or an extra towel should be enough to keep it from being a problem.

  16. Pass the parcel is my kids MOST FAVOURITE game. It has been a must have at their birthdays every year.

  17. I throw my shower curtain in the laundry with soap and a little bleach and then I dry it in the sun. That usually works! I’m same age as your mom born in ‘58!

  18. How to Clean a Plastic Shower Curtain or Liner
    Step 1: Remove the Curtain.
Step 2: Place It in the Washing Machine.
Step 3: Add Detergent, Vinegar, and Baking Soda.
Step 4: Run on the Gentle Cycle.
Step 5: Remove the Curtain and Hang to Dry.
