Ohh good tip, thank you
So, planes that fly over teh wood have been around for waaay longer than planes that fly over the land&sea, gotcha 😁
Keep running your iron, and your mouth, Rex. I like to watch your videos, both long and short form 😉👍
its plane simple
I get a tiny lift when I see your bald head
Wait….but why wouldn't you just traverse the distance…like a woodworking scuttle back & forth?
That's what i tend to do when edge jointing, so i always kinda did the same with planing the face.
As it happens in so many of your videos, at the end one could think "hey, but it's just trivial". Then one voice inside you tells: "hell no, that's golden advice. Shut up, listen and learn".
As always, thanks, Rex!
the reminds me of those japanese planes where they basically plane an entire beam in one go
do you use a 3D printed front knob? it kinda looks like it in some of your videos but i can’t tell
Could have slipped a pun in there, it would have been PLANE and simple
Great tip, Rex. I agree with you that running down a board with a wood plane doesn't sound like a relaxing day at the shop.
Remember, just because "we're" pretty good at it, you are not expected to be before you've gotten a lot of experience. Things like this is hard, even when it looks easy to those who have practiced a lot. Don't be hard on yourself, and keep at it. You are getting better.
How does that make the board level all the way across, or is hand planing just for smoothness?
Good technique to know
Slowing down to learn proper technique is key.
What are the handle and tote made from? Is that black a finish of some kind? It really looks like they could be 3D printed to me
RUNNINGGGGG 🫠
Does thr same thing work if you're jointing the edge of a long board?
Stupid question: traversing wouldn't work the same way?
