A Visit to Ferrari Mecca: DK Engineering | Goodwood Revival: The Golden Era Of Racing

In episode 1 of this series, I am visiting my friend James Cottingham at DK Engineering’s home just outside London. Here he will show me around the incredible facility they have there, as well as showing me exactly what goes into preparing a vintage racing car ahead of a race like Goodwood Revival.

DK Engineering are vintage car restoration specialists, with a particular focus on Ferrari.

About This Series:
For years now, I have been exploring the world of quality, craftsmanship, and tradition. This journey has taken me from some of the world’s most highly regarded bespoke tailoring houses, all the way to a proper shooting estate in Scotland.

I have come to believe that nobody does tradition better than the British! From dressing in the proper attire for a given occasion, through to the liturgy of the ceremonial; there is almost always an etiquette routed in tradition at its core.

In this series we explore what could arguably be one of the most exciting of the British traditions: racing.

I’ve been invited by my good friend James Cottingham, to join him as he prepares to race in the Goodwood Revival, the country’s most important vintage car racing event.

So, strap yourselves in and enjoy as we explore Britain’s golden era of racing!

  1. I’m extremely curious as to what the most pedestrian car they’ve ever gone through is.

  2. nonsense. the last ferraris built that you could use on the road were the 308 Michelotto mechanically injected cars which were used for competition but could also be used or the road too.

  3. I smiled so many times during this video. What a dream come true. Congratulations on a fine production!

  4. I just saw a ferrari testarosa 512tr for the first time about 6 months ago, it was yellow and blocky

  5. Mr Allison, I love all of your videos, but this one is an absolute masterpiece. One of the greatest car focused videos I have ever seen, thank you so much to yourself and dk engineering for giving us the chance to see so many unique vehicles. 10/10

  6. Great video, what iconic cars.
However its evident Kirby is definitely no petrol head and has absolutely no interses in motor cars whatsoever.

  7. Wow. What a film! Production values and presentation equal to the works of art featured. Thank you for uploading on a weekend – watched it twice already! Can’t wait for more.
