2. The pen only works to detdrmine if the bill is made with the correct amount of cotton to linen. If, however, someone washes a 5 snd reprints it as a 50, the pen still marks it as a real 50.

5. Don't trust the pens to prove it's real only to prove it's fake. If the bill fails, it's definitely fake. If it "passes" all you know is that it's a US bill of some kind. It could be a $1 bill that was washed and reprinted as a pre-2013 hundred.

6. Uv light sounds better as you don't have to put ink on the bill.

7. worked at separate banks for a while in my 20's. Most tellers will be able to tell when they get a fake bill right away, not even needing these things. You look at money all day so seeing a fake is easy and sticks out like a sore thumb.
