  1. My husband is a tech guy. He hates the Roku for this exact reason. They don’t communicate with the tvs well and when an auto-update occurs something gets confused between the Roku and the tv and you have to switch to a different input channel and back to relink it. 🤷‍♀️

  2. We like to bring a game console with us and would be SUPER bummed if we couldn't change the input.

  3. I’d recommend Best Buy for tvs, I purchased a tv 4 years ago and purchased the extended warranty. My tv was having similar issue and I water tied it before it expired. I recieved a gift card in the amout I paid for the tv and was able to score a deal on a 55in (had 43inch piror) dor less than 100$ out of pocket.

  4. Any time I see a tv with several remotes I just don't use the tv, because I don't feel like figuring it out. I think hiding it is a good idea and if someone really needs it for some reason (idk maybe they'll be setting up something of their own, like I used to be carrying my own Chromecast before all the TV's started having some sort of smart features), then they can just message you and ask where it is

  5. Probably just leave the instructions next to the tv 🤷‍♀️ in case they continue having those issues.

  6. Am I weird for just not using the TV at airbnbs? 😂😂 I bring my laptop and my phone and just stream there.

  7. Can you put a laminated “how to” or trouble shooting guide somewhere in the living room? With a run down of how to switch input etc.

  8. I need instructions in AirBnbs for the TV! We don't have anything like Roku or Firestick at home, and we can never figure out how they work – simple instructions would be so helpful!

  9. Does it tend to happen when the older guests are there? Its doubtful its the tv and more than likely just the users. My parents magically have issues with their TVs all the time. Also make sure that the roku is up to date and occasional do a system reboot.

  10. has anybody stayed in your airbnb because of your channel, since you made it??? if that makes sense.🤣😭

  11. I work in a nursing home. When my residents ask me to fix their tv’s, 99.9% of the time it’s just the wrong input 🤦‍♀️

  12. It could also be a short cord or plug, my firestick had no problems till I moved it to another tv and it was dead. A new cord and it worked fine

  13. It’s not the Roku remote. It’s the Roku wire every now and then ours does this. I have to disconnect it and re-plug it up and it’s fine.

  14. DO NOT REPLACE THE TV, at most get a newer roku that does everything so you don't need a second remote, also roku has this thing called guest mode which is perfect for the Airbnb, don't know if you use it.

  15. There'll always be people who end up getting lost on how to use technology properly. Replacing the TV isn't going to get rid of them.

  16. I work at a hotel, I "fix" the TVs literally EVERY SINGLE DAY. They either change the input or turn the channel on the TV (for us that TV needs to be on channel 3 as well as the correct input) or they have a ton of stuff plugged in so they start randomly unplugging things and either they don't plug it back in or all the way back in so obviously then it doesn't work. 😢😂
