Even just 1–2 drinks a night…
Or 4–6 drinks only on weekends…
Can rewire your brain and stress response.
Here’s what happens:
⚠️ Alcohol disrupts your HPA axis (hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal)
⚠️ Your body starts producing more cortisol — even when you’re not drinking
⚠️ That means higher baseline stress and more anxiety on sober days
⚠️ This sets up a vicious cycle where you feel worse without alcohol, increasing cravings
It’s not about how much you drink — it’s how often.
Even “moderate” drinking can mess with your brain’s stress thermostat.
Want to feel more calm and balanced?
✅ Try going alcohol-free for 30 days
✅ Notice how your stress and sleep improve
✅ Support your system with adaptogens like ashwagandha or magnesium
Your nervous system will thank you.

A vicious cycle, the more you drink the more fucked the days off are
Says Adrenal gland but shows thyroid gland. Wtf
The blacksmith in our village drank 3 liters of wine everyday, never water. He was 81 when he died.
I refuse to believe have some whiskey o a friday night is going to do more harm than everything that's in our food, water, air, and everywhere in between. You could spend your whole life trying to do everything as healthy as possible and ve taken out by a bus. Live life.
I stopped and yes feel better and less body aches and muscle cramping
I've been a alcoholic since I was 15, I drink from the moment I wake up and drink myself to sleep every single day. I turn 30 this year, that's half my life I've been a slave to the drink Ive tried to cut down but it's hopeless. I've accepted il live and die an alcoholic 🥲
i believe alcohol is bad . But drinking 3 drinks every saturday i dont believe will make me stressed or anxious.
Why so many people become alcoholics.
This guy never uped the amount of drinks.. I never had less than 8 drinks…no.more than 24….This guy, "1 or 2 drinks per night…or 2 to 4 drinks on the weekend." Come on dude…I am in Wisconsin, land of alcoholics.
It's genetic AND dependent upon quality of your poison(beer has hops, wine has polyphenols, etc.), period. He doesn't tell you the whole story of Cortisol and it's function!
Plus, this Cortisol response can happen with anything: coffee, candy bars, masturbation, cigs, etc. When you're not doing them, as a consequence, more Cortisol .
My advice: learn to temper your addictions, coping mechanisms. And when you experience stress, because it's gonna happen: lean on mechanisms that utilize Cortisol: get ya some exercise, sex, or cross-addict to another habit! Live, baby( ◜‿◝ )♡
Lol coming from the guy who doesn't drink
So don't drink at all.🤷🏾♀️
How many of you are over 35 and lost alot of weight after quitting drinking and or smoking?
Ok but let’s now correlate this people to their income levels cause I guarantee people who eat above $75 aud after tax drink less
It makes sense. Pain medicine does something similar. Where if you do them consistently enough, your baseline pain increases.
ok im not taking more beers.
what about red wine?
Talk about a buZz kill..!
Dude…timing is everything.
I just came home from working over the road, no putang, having a nice wine and orange Juice, and youre like a buzz turdminator…. Im Spaniard by the way…. 😁😜
Good thing I drink every day!
Go say that in Japan. Cause in Japan most people even women drink beer when they eat every night. Sometimes 2 beer per dinner.
I only drink beers on weekends, nothing on weekdays. I feel I am very happy when drinking because I spend time drinking with my family
Yeah alcohol reduces stress and anxiety 100%,what his saying is, "when you're not drinking"
Society is stress
