  1. I thought 'poffertjes' were baby Duch pancakes. They don't look like this at all. they're about 3" in diameter and are piled up in a dish and covered with melted butter and powdered sugar.

  2. One of my favorite things. Love fruit, but my favorite is powder sugar and fresh squeeze lemon juice. Yum!

  3. John makes everything look SO easy and beautiful! I can’t wait to try this!!!

  4. Yum and so beautiful!! this is a very old fashion recipe. The pancake houses around me used to have it when I was a young person in my 70s and now it’s getting popular again.

  5. When you opened the oven door and I saw the finished product my reaction was "oooooooooo". I would love to try this but alas, I do not own a cast iron frying pan.

  6. These are so much less complicated than I had thought. Thank you, John! I vote for honey and yogurt or apricot preserves for a topping! Thanks again! ✌️

  7. Don’t make the same mistake i did by carrying the hot handle with my bare hands attempting to put it back into the oven.. the burns were painful and luckily no blisters, but I almost dropped a heavy cast iron pan on my feet.. ????‍♀️

  8. I always wanted to make a Dutch baby ever since I saw that scene in Bob's Burgers. I'll have to try this soon!

  9. Thank you! Weekends I mix this up in the blender and next morning just pulse it a bit. It's so easy and if you have a family maybe make some bacon to put on the table.I always use blueberry's and maple syrup. Oh! If you have any leftovers you can eat it like a dessert with some whipped cream.

  10. I have made these before using a different recipe. What I love about it is I can use gluten free flour (I have Celiac Disease) and it comes out perfect. Thanks for sharing this recipe. I’m going to try it.

  11. I love almond flavored instead of vanilla Dutch Babies ! they're awesome put ur favorite fruit in them. O!!! sooo good!

  12. I have been making dutch pancakes for about 40 years now. The recipe came from Sunset mag doing an article on a Seattle, WA restauranteur. Taught many people how to do them. Toppings can be sweet or savory… try making a seared salsa fresh made, yum!. Delicious cold later on, too. Great for entertaining. Really keeps my cast iron beautifully seasoned as bonus.

  13. Looks great John! Never heard of this before, but it sure looks delicious! ???? ????
