Beef Noodles:
Serves: 4
Prep time: 10 mins
Cook time: 15 mins
Ingredients
500g flank steak, thinly sliced
1 tbsp water
½ tsp bicarb soda
2 tbsp cornflour
1½ tbsp Shaoxing wine
¼ cup (60ml) soy sauce
2 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tbsp dark soy sauce
450g fresh hokkien noodles
2 tbsp vegetable oil (or other neutral oil)
1 small brown onion, finely sliced
1 carrot, julienned
½ each of red, green and yellow capsicums (bell peppers), thinly sliced
4 spring onions, white and green parts separated, chopped
4 cloves garlic, finely chopped
1 thumb-sized piece young ginger*, julienned
chilli crisp, to serve
Method
Combine water, bicarb soda, cornflour, 1 tbsp of Shaoxing and 2 tbsp of soy in a large bowl. Add beef and toss well to coat, then set aside to marinate.
Combine remaining Shaoxing, soy, oyster sauce and dark soy in a small bowl. Set aside.
Cook noodles in a large pot of salted boiling water, according to packet directions. Drain and rinse under cold water.
Heat the oil in a wok over high heat. Cook beef in batches, tossing, until browned. Set aside.
Add onion and carrot, cook for 1-2 mins, until softened. Add capsicums, garlic, ginger and white part of onion. Cook a further 1-2 minutes to soften.
Return meat to the pan along with sauces and noodles. Toss well to combine and bring sauce to a simmer.
Stir through the green part of the onion. Serve with a drizzle of some chilli crisp if desired.
*If you can’t find young ginger, then use regular ginger and finely grate it.

We just put a curved roof on the new house we’re building- Let me show you exactly how we did it.
The truss company built trusses for this porch, but it was up to us to make the curve.
The plans call for a 22-foot radius on this roof.
To figure out the radius we used some string and scrap pieces of OSB.
We stretched the string out 22 feet, the length of the radius, then, tied a loop on the end to hold a marker.
Keeping the string tight, I traced the curve onto the OSB.
The framers traced the pattern they made onto ¾” subfloor and cut it out with a circular saw.
Next, they use glue and screws to laminate two pieces together, making them an 1 ½” thick- so they’re really strong.
They used a grinder with a flap disc to smooth out any unevenness.
Here you can see one of these curved rafters looked like put together.
The framers made four of these for the porch, plus a small one for the overhang.
I was really impressed with their work.
They used construction adhesive and screws to put down ½” CDX plywood- the plywood bends to the curve of the roof.
Next up- we’re going to frame an arched opening above the entrance of this porch. @hausplans

High Proteim Ham Hash Recipe👇
I made this one pretty high protein (52g) so it’s good for fitness enthusiasts chasing a daily protein target, or anyone lose weight. If using for weight loss go heavy with the ham like my recipe below. If you don’t need to lose weight add more potato and use less ham. Yum 🤤
Nutrition – 500 kcal (52P, 25C, 22F)
100g potato (grated)
120g ham trimmings (or sliced)
3 medium eggs (free range)
100ml milk (2%)
10g parsley
10g Parmesan
Method –
1. Turn the oven on to 160C (320F)
2. Grate your potato (don’t need to peel really)
3. Add the potato, ham, eggs, milk and parsley to a bowl. Mix well and season.
4. Top with the Parmesan
5. Bake for 30-40 minutes (till golden brown)
The only weird thing here is the potato. I’ve grated because if it’s sliced the cooking time needed is so long the eggs get torched. If the potatoes are already cooked for some reason 30 minutes is plenty.

Spinach-Pahlou is a traditional Northern Iranian stew that’s incredibly flavorful and delicious.

🔴Ingredients for 4 people:

500g Spinach
100g Coriander
100g Garlic Greens (Young Garlic Leaves)
1 Onion
1 Tablespoon Tomato Paste

Sometimes I feel like carbonara…
As the great grandchild of immigrants, I never felt entitled to Italian Citizenship, but it felt great to be welcomed by my ancestors’ country. We are all on this Earth together, so the more love the better and the more carbonara the better.
Recipe for 2 People
Ingredients:
180g Bucatini
20g Grana Padano (Sub: Parmesan)
40g Pecorino Romano
1g (8-12 Whole Peppercorns)
100g Guanciale
2 Yolks
1 Whole Egg
Steps:
For MAXIMUM EFFICIENCY for this dish, I’ve included some of the PREP steps that can be done during cooking. If it’s your first time making this dish or you like taking your time, you can do all of the steps labelled PREP before cooking.
Start heating a pot of lightly salted water. The sauce is already pretty salty.
PREP your guanciale by removing the outer layer and slicing into small 1cm blocks.
Fry the guanciale on LOW, allowing the fat to render and the fat to turn translucent.
Once there is a bit of grease in the pan, add your whole peppercorns and toast for 1 minute.
Remove the peppercorns and continue frying the guanciale until golden brown. Then remove from the heat and set aside.
By now, your pasta water has probably reached a boil, add your pasta and cook until 1 minute shy of al dente.
PREP your sauce in a large heatproof bowl by separating your egg yolks, grating your cheese, and grinding the pepper.
After the pasta has cooked for about 5 minutes, add a spoonful of the starchy pasta water to your sauce bowl. Make sure to stir while slowly adding the water OR use a serving dish to cool the pasta water before adding it.
OPTIONAL: Add some or all of the guanciale grease to your sauce bowl. I like adding it all, but I LOVE the taste of guanciale. It’s a strong flavor, so taste to make sure you like it first.
When the pasta is done, add it to your sauce bowl and mix everything vigorously over the steamy pasta pot. Continue mixing until the sauce thickens up, then add some pasta water to thin the sauce to your liking.
