And if you see air bubbles after you’ll wish you just left a ridge that you can easily scrape right off with that same knife. Keep a sponge, spray bottle and some 0000 steel wool on you, especially if you care about having a high end finish. These things will save you a lot of time and spare you from all kinds of headaches
❤😊✨✨✨🤗👍👍👍
That's not a trick that's the right way to do it and he's still doing it improperly😂 so many people think the right way to do mud is to put a bunch of mud on the wall and then sand it off until it looks flat….. That is wrong. You want to use a flexible knife and feather the edges by bending your flexible knife and you're supposed to make the middle flat with a knife and only have to sand off the ripples and slightly sand the edges. Too many doofuses out here showing people to do it the wrong way and patting themselves on the back with a big s*** eating grin
My dad called me crazy for doing it like that
Don’t tell me what to do you don’t know anything at all.
Im about ready to take out a sliding door in the master bedroom and put in a wall and close it off. Im watching your videos to get it done!
I dont sand between coats.. sometimes i dont sand at all…. let that sink in.
I would never use a 4in knife on a patch like that unless I was taping it.
Incorrect want to feather the edges then one pass through middle. Pro tip
That is the dumbest advice I’ve ever heard, use a knife big enough to cover the patch 🤯
Great tip. Thanks
Always such great advice really appreciate it from someone who loves to try every tip to better my self and make my home a better place
Love the tips like this especially for weekend warriors that needs to be patch work!
Also doing a large patch, don’t use a 4 inch mud knife
EXACTLY…all these other drywall videos tell you to sand, sand, sand, sand and sand. Have owned a drywall company for 52 years now. We don't sand anything, maybe bullnose corner bead but that's it.
The knives have a cup in it. So when your skimming and your filling the closer your handle is the more you'll put on. Thin the mud more each coat and pull tighter each coat. Always use a 6inch or 8inch knife and get a bigger knife each coat until fixed. Tapper the edges and actually float and you won't have edges. I hate sanding so I mastered the art of it.
Who the hell sands in between coats?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
Here's a tip "don't use a 4 inch knife".
Been doing drywall since the 80's and don't use a 4" knife. Always a 6
Is there textured mud lol for textured walls
Perfect every time 👍
Here's a trick. Use the tool the way it was designed to be used. Isn't that a cool trick? Aren't you glad you needed someone to explain that to you?
Mud and sanding?. In the UK we use plaster and then we polish because we are skilled.
He left The Ridge at each stroke I feel like I'm watching a Democrat telling me a fake embellished lie
Yet even after explaining how to get rid of ridges he still left ridges albeit very small.
The stuff i learn on this channel right after it would have been useful is unmatched 😅
The simple shit I learned from this dude is amazing
When you apply mud on the wall, you will have ridges. When you wipe it you wont have ridges, no matter how you hold the puddy knife 🤣
