Bacon vs. Pancetta vs. Guanciale

What’s the difference between bacon, pancetta, and guanciale?

What should you use in a carbonara?

Watch the video to find out?

  1. I know guanciale can be hard to find, but the flavor is REALLY different than pancetta and bacon.

It can be hard to find in the US, so I would recommend checking out donatoonlinestore.com for some herb cured or smoked guanciale at a very reasonable price and high quality. My favorite type is smoked. (I'm not sponsored for this post, but they did give me a code for followers to get a free gift and tell them I sent you… TRIGGTUBE) Enjoy your pasta!

  2. i dont eat pork but whenever i walk by someone eating bacon MAN it smells so good 😭

  3. For carbonara only guanciale..if u use pancetta u commit a crime against humanity

  4. Bravo bro! You right, I’m Italian and totally right. Wtf😂😂! at the beginning of the video i thought you were going to say bullshit but instead bravo bravo. unfortunately there is a lot of confusion about italian food and i thank you for the accuracy.

  5. Had everything right except for the carbonara part. Original carbonara uses guanciale, modern carbonara also works with pancetta.

  6. my grocery store sells jowl bacon but not guanciale, would it be better to use guanciale with the american bacon flavor profile or pancetta with the more italian cured meat flavor?

  7. Osea la panceta ahumada es bacon, y la no ahumada es panceta normal, me alegra saber esa pequeña diferencia

  8. Pan seared guanciale taste very bad to me kinda rancid, as an Italian i pref a nicely made pancetta for my carbonara 😅😅
