The rest are doing just fine, and we'll find a new one (or hopefully several) to cultivate. The gros michel isn't extinct, either, so you definitely don't need to make fake banana mash to try them. You can get them, they're just expensive.
There are only heirloom variants of the big Mike bananas left. They aren't extinct, dumb dumb.
I think we could just breed one of the other banana kinds into the one we have today
