Beef tendon is how Asians eat their skincare

In almost every country in Asia, beef tendon is enjoyed as a delicacy, and in many of those countries, the people attribute their soft and youthful skin to it.

The jury is still out whether or not consuming collagen truly has an effect on all the parts of your body that contains it (skin, hair, nail joints, etc.) but it seems a growing amount of studies are starting to conclude that the answer “is not no.”

Whether or not it actually helps it is extremely delicious and an essential component in many soups and noodle dishes throughout Asia. And still an extremely healthy ingredient for the amount of richness to a dish it provides.

  1. Just before this, Youtube showed me a short of a hot guy eating raw chicken feet. Now it’s a hot guy cooking beef tendons. As a queer vegetarian, I am so conflicted!

  2. In Indonesia, some of our bakso AKA meatballs have tendons inside, giving them nice texture. It is my favorite variant of bakso.

Well, I have definitely eaten in tendons in clear broth soups and spicy stews. But, they are not as common.

  3. This is my side quest and thank you for this knowledge and peaceful moments always ❤ 😊

  4. I made beef tendon in master stock before!! I Frankensteined Jon's recipe and souped up kitchens. I don't like the texture of tendon but the flavor was SO GOOD that I ate it anyway!

  5. I need to remember to get this the next time I'm at 168. Save-a-lot has not stocked it with the chicken paws and hog maws

  6. My aesthetician is also my chef. Any culture that uses nose to tail cooking always seems to have great skin in my opinion

  7. Please tell me you shared some of the meat with the doggos

They looked like they were being so good and patient

  8. I used to fight with my sibling for the tiny sliver of tendon they add in canned corned beef😂

  9. How's the texture? I can't even eat the gelatinous pieces of chicken without being disgusted so I'm concerned about it 🙁

  10. Had a roommate that straight wouldn't eat the beef stock I made one month because of how gelatinous it came out I was like..aight if you want bad skin that much.😂

  11. Let’s not make tendon trendy 😭 oxtail has already become a luxury when it didn’t used to be. I’ll be so sad if tendon also just gets priced out

  12. When I get pho, I always order tendon and tripe. Beats regular beef strips any day. I wonder if i could cook the tendon in an Instant Pot and save some time…
