Best Automatic Transmission Fluid? Let’s Settle This! ACDelco vs Red Line, Mobil & SuperTech

Does ATF brand matter or is it all the same? Is OEM transmission fluid better or worse than aftermarket brands? Automatic transmission fluids compared for resistance to foaming, acidity, wear resistant properties, ability to resistance oxidation and thermal breakdown, viscosity or flow before and after exposure to heat. I also paid an independent testing lab to provide additional information on the automatic transmission fluids.

  2. I would also like to see Amsoil tested. Even though the Redline was much more expensive then the rest of the fluids it would probably be the one I would use. A transmission rebuild isn't cheap and if the Redline would stall the inevitable it would seem to be money well spent.

  4. Another great video, good to see how different transmission fluids compare.

    Would love to see a video about how much lubricating fasteners changes clamping force when torqued. Comparing dry fasteners to ones coated with grease, oil, anti-seize, WD-40, etc to see how much more pressure is generated at the same torque value could be very useful

  6. This is awesome to see i am super excited to see this being tested by you. If you do a second round I would love to see Schaeffers, amsoil and valvoline max life tested! It would also be very interesting to see a test on syncromesh manual transmission fluid

  7. You should compare hand cleaners at some point, gojo, goop, fast orange, joe's, lava, the works. I'm sure your hands get just as dirty as mine and I've yet to find anything better than dish soap and a nail brush.

  15. as you seem to test a lot of the y'allmart supertech products, i'm kinda surprised i don't see other house brands. i.e. o'really's, napa, advance auto wait car quest whoops fram. besides amsoil, pentosin, valvoline, stp, castrol, etc.

  16. Valvoline maxlife ATF for recommendation on next test to be completed. Also have an overall best ATF fluid at the end would be nice as well. ????

  17. Test tractor hydraulic fluids. There are a ton of them and alot of confusion around them all

  21. As someone that’s been doing automotive diagnostics for over 20 years, I can only give my recommendation of only using OEM fluid only. Manufacturers have specific materials in their clutch packs that need specific additives in the fluid. Some aftermarket fluid providers print “Approved for xxxxx use” and those are outright lies. Ford, GM, etc. will never give approval for aftermarket fluid use.

  23. Great video, would you please do another showdown against the Redline but with Valvoline Max Life ATF and Idemitsu ATF? Testing a japanese aftermarket brand would be interesting

  24. I've been using Redline manual transmission fluid so I'm assuming it performs just as good as the ATF. I've used their ATF in my power steering pump though.
