Brined, Sliced, & Stuffed: How the Ultimate Turkey Sandwich Is Made — The Experts

“It is limitless what you can do with a sandwich.” Dria Atencio, chef-owner of Salty Lunch Lady’s Little Luncheonette in Queens, New York, opened up the sandwich shop in 2023. The counter specializes in crafting American classics, such as the Dill Party, made with house-roasted turkey; the Chicky, featuring smashed chicken meatballs; and specials like Buffalo chicken dip served in pizza bianca. For those wanting a sweet treat, the shop offers a rotating dessert menu with cakes, cookies, and pies that often sell out by early afternoon.

  1. WOW. THOSE ARE THE SANDWICHES AND THE LITTLE SHOPS WE LOVE. EAT THE CAKE BEFORE THE SANDWICH CUS WE ARE ADULTS.

  2. Love the passion for the food. Reminds me of Booeymonger in Georgetown, Washington DC. Fond memories of the specialty sandwiches there. Craftsmanship is what stands out in my memory

  3. Always love the person who said he or she serves food to make people happy.

  4. It's such a beautiful thing to see someone with so much passion for their craft and succeeding in it. This place is on my list.

  5. This woman is a beeter chef than Gordon Ramsay. My family respects

  6. Damn, next time I'm in New York I'm going to have to go to this place.

  7. Good on you, sandwich is the best food, eat with your hands a delicous mix of flavours in bread oooof.

  8. 6/10 Just went and got the Tuna and Dill. Nothing spectacular could’ve definitely used something else in both the sandwiches. They are good and built with quality ingredients. But the sandwiches were lacking/ nothing special. Honestly can make it at home with the same ingredients and stuff. But I get it takes time and effort which I respect. Worth a try if your into sandwiches and mins you have a different opinion.

  9. as a german, i am appalled. the majority of these is disgusting. you really think those ingredients match? that speared pickle on top killed me.. murica really has no culture

  10. buffalo chicken dip sandwich is the most unholy spawn of pure American ingenuity that I MUST EAT

  11. the veggie sandwich this place does with roasted squash and goat cheese (it might be seasonal) is one of the best things i’ve eaten

  12. The next time I'm in New York I've gotta stop in there for a bite. Her sandwiches look really tasty. Now I'm craving a turkey sandwich.
