BRITISH fish & chips! Mushy Peas..Curry Sauce…It's On! | Marion’s Kitchen

Just in time for King Charles III’s coronation, I’m throwing down my version of a classic British chip shop-style fish and chips “chippy tea”, complete with all the trimmings: craggly batter bits, homemade mushy peas and epic curry sauce. I’m no Brit, but dang, this is good. Just don’t forget the malt vinegar.

  1. Hey Marion, love your videos! Been subscribed for years now and I happened to be British. I have to say when doing fish and chips I usually salt my white fish first and set in the fridge to draw a bit of moisture out and firm up the flesh for a meatier bite .

  2. That looks great – although i have gravy from ths chippie – no not on the fish – just on the chips (i get it in a separate tub to mske sure) ????

  3. You totally educate all perfectly! I appreciate your explanations so we can replicate your recipes perfectly TY

  4. Nah.. Don’t know what Australians have done to fish and chips ? But if it’s different to our F&C then they’re something else.. Most chippies here (Liverpool) are Chinese in the main and can’t be beaten in my view.. to be fair I think the origin of fried fish in batter is Jewish. Your fish looked great but not sure it was Cod/Haddock which are the only choices.. if not then what you cooked is an Australian version not British… Also we don’t have cream in our mushy peas.. Got to say what you cooked looked lovely .. I could smell the malt vinegar… Nice!! ..Oh what’s your take on a Doner kebab?

  5. OMG.???? I want some. Looks amazing.
Thanks for not saying it is better than our Aussie Fish & Chips because really, ours is kinda the best, too. ???? But I can say: your version is always the best! ????????
    Will try this next time.
Meanwhile, calling my local Fish n Chips shops now. Too cold & too tired to cook. ???? #FishnChips #MarionGrasby

  6. She told us everything except what kind of fish to use. Can anyone please tell me what kind of fish she likely used or what kind would be good to use?

  7. Would be great if you gave us some details about temos times etc and less cool production. Not subbing.
