  1. I enjoyed watching an actual decorating video again ๐Ÿ˜Š. You did such a good job! I also prefer buttercream to fondant, both for flavour and ease.

  2. I think the original cake has a bronze tint to the flowers maybe KC Gold and the thin small branches made it feel antique, romantic and delicate. Your cake has a yellow gold, which always looks good with deep green and the flowers are so pretty you did amazing. The thick branches is giving me different vibes than the original but it looks gorgeous on it's own way and 100% better than the store ones. i would be so happy if this was my cake.

  3. I'm just curious on why everything was molded and not just piped? To me expecially the trim where the cakes meet are piped and same with the leaves.

  4. You did Fabulously! Your cake is so much better than what the bakery did! Details, details, details are spot on! ๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿคฉ๐Ÿ‘

  5. That is EASILY a $1,000 (USD) cake. It's custom, and a lot of work and care was put into it every step of the way.

  6. This is a beautiful cake!! All that time and careful artistry needs some big bucks!! $$$๐Ÿ’ฐ๐Ÿ’ฐ๐Ÿ’ฐ
At a good bakery you'd might pay as much as $200-400 dollars!! Wedding cakes don't come cheap!! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ’ฐ
Have you ever seen a wedding cake with a water fountain on the bottom layer??

  7. Mixing the colour with a dough hook is a hack? I've only ever done it that way. It's also the best way to rub your pastry or shortbread ingredients together.

  8. What is there to be brutal about. Yeah there were fondant mistakes but I wouldnโ€™t ever try to work with it so youโ€™re a warrior baker. It is absolutely gorgeous. I love that you took so much time to find the colors you loved and all the color mixing of shimmers. Amazing!!!! Now on a completely different topic. I want the black dress where did you get it?

  9. I love your cake! My biggest issue with the bakery cakes was the color. I'm a stickler for color, and the lack of blue in their cakes would have made me cry if I were the bride.

I did cry as my former mother-in-law insisted, along with her son, that she make the cake. I had a soft baby doll pink that I wanted for the flowers, and she did a nearly neon pink. Never even asked for a swatch of fabric. (Before a lot of digital pics existed.) I also wanted round pillars, and she saw my lattice backdrop and decided for me to use her square lattice pillars without asking me. She also used those silver ball candy things when I told her I didn't want them. (Sigh, I have tried to forgive her, but I am obviously still bitter.)

My former sister-in-law didn't seem to care as much, or she hid it well. Her bridesmaids' dress color was a blue-gray, and the wedding cake was more azure, possibly leaning toward teal.

  10. Omg, I saw the pictures and was so confused. I was like, "Didn't I already watch this?!?!"

Gosh, I really need to sleep. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

  11. Love your cake, elegant and dark, it had to be chocolate, Iโ€™m sure it would be amazing in your buttercream too x
