MANGO LASSI & JUICE
Preparation time 10-12 minutes
Cooking time 15-20 minutes
Serve 2-4

Ingredients
For Mango Squash
4-5 ripe Mango, peeled & sliced, पके हुए आम
5-6 Raw Mango, peeled & sliced, कच्चे आम
1 ½ cups Sugar, चीनी
5-6 cups Water, पानी

For Mango Lassi
8-10 Ice cubes, बर्फ के टुकड़े
1 cup Prepared Mango Squash, तैयार किया हुआ मैंगो स्क्वैश
2 cups Curd, beaten, दही

For Garnish
Mango slice, आम
Saffron water, केसर का पानी
Mint sprig, पुदीना पत्ता

For Mango Juice
10-12 Ice cubes, बर्फ के टुकड़े
½ cup Prepared Mango Squash (per serving 3-4 tbsp) तैयार किया हुआ मैंगो स्क्वैश
Water as required, पानी

Process
For Mango Squash
In a sauce pot, add water, ripe mangoes, raw mango, sugar and let it simmer for a while.
Close the lid and cook it for 12-15 minutes till it thickens or until cooked well.
Blend it with the help of a blender and transfer it to a bowl.
Let it cool at room temperature and keep it aside for further use.

For Mango Lassi
In a martaban, add ice cubes, prepared mango squash, curd and churn it well with the help of a wooden churner.
Transfer it to a serving glass, garnish it with mango slices, mint sprig and kesar water.
Serve chilled.

For Mango Juice
In a jar, add ice cubes, prepared mango squash, water as required and mix it well.
Transfer it to a serving glass and serve chilled.

Fixing Ice Dams on a Roof | Ask This Old House

In this video, This Old House home technology expert Ross Trethewey helps a homeowner solve an ice dam issue with smart insulation practices that also improve the home’s efficiency.

Home technology expert Ross Trethewey helps a homeowner solve their attic insulation problem. After getting some conflicting suggestions, the homeowner turns to Ross’s plan of turning it into an unvented attic space with spray foam insulation. Ross walks the homeowner through the process of testing the home, having the insulation installed, and testing the insulation quality.

What are Ice Dams?
An ice dam occurs when the heat from the home rises and melts snow on the roof, the snow melt (water) runs down the roof toward the unheated eve, and refreezes, creating a dam. The dam then causes more snow melt to back up, allowing it to seep under the shingles and into the home. This can cause damage to roof decking, insulation, drywall, and other materials, and the answer is insulation.

Where to find it?
Ross helps a homeowner suffering from ice dams by first discussing attic insulation options for vented and unvented roof systems. They then decide which system is best for the homeowner. Afterwards, installers install spray foam insulation to the attic roof rafters.

Vented roof – Keeps the heat in the building and then lets the attic vent to the exterior using soffit
vents, ridge vents, and gable vents. The advantage is there’s less volume of the home that needs to be heated and cooled because the “conditioned envelope” is from the ceiling, down.

Unvented roof – Puts the triangular attic space inside the “conditioned envelope.” Insulates the
attic with spray foam insulation to the rafters on either side of the roof line.

Ross performs a blower door test – depressurizes the home by pulling the house under negative
pressure, sending all the interior air through the fan, outside.

Ross performs zonal pressure diagnostics with a manometer – measures differences in pressure
between rooms to determine where air is leaking.

Ross checks the air leakage from the attic to the main floor by looking at vents and light fixtures
with a thermal imaging camera.

The installers apply a new industry standard spray foam that requires only a single application
and will expand to a 5” thickness.

This 1400 sq.ft Compact Home in Bengaluru Has Ample Greenery

The Nest House is located in a residential area of Bangalore with roads on two sides, north and west, making it a corner plot. A tree in the juncture of the corner led to the idea of a curvature to break the rigidity of the corner plot and create dynamism in the spaces inside.

A striking feature of the house is a double height courtyard on the east, nestled well within the curvature. This space is wrapped in steel fabrication that creates an interesting play light and shadow throughout the day.

The facade is a neat composition of cement finish, fabrication, and mud plaster. The use of local red soil to achieve this gives a reddish orange tinge adding warmth to the elevation. While the north side permits light and ventilation, the western side has minimum openings to protect the interiors from harsh western sunlight. Due to this, there are no fans or air conditioners installed on the first floor of the house.

Candied Croissant Croque Madame

@alexawhatsfordinner says if your croissants are stale or otherwise not very good, this is a great way to salvage them! ? The viral candied croissant hack makes a perfect sweet and crunchy base for a rich & creamy croque madame ? Croque madame is a traditional French sandwich featuring ham, Gruyère, béchamel sauce, and a fried egg. Recipe below‼️

Ingredients (for 2 servings)
-2 croissants
-1½ Tbsp unsalted butter, divided
-1 Tbsp honey
-4 slices deli ham
-4 oz Gruyère cheese, shaved
-½ Tbsp all-purpose flour
-½ cup whole milk
-2 large eggs, fried sunny-side up
-Kosher salt, to taste
-Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
-Thinly sliced chives, for garnish

Preparation
-Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
-Using a rolling pin, roll the croissants out until flattened and thin. Evenly spread ¼ tablespoon of butter on each side of both croissants.
-Heat a large pan over medium-high heat. Add the croissants to the pan and cook for about 5 minutes, or until golden on one side. Flip the croissants and drizzle the honey evenly over the tops. Once the other side is golden brown, about 5 minutes, flip again so the side with the honey is face-down. Cook until deep golden brown and caramelized, about 3 minutes.
-Place the candied croissants on the prepared baking sheet, honey-side up. Top each croissant with 2 slices of ham and 2 ounces of Gruyère.
-Bake the croissants for about 10 minutes, until the cheese is melted and gooey.
-Meanwhile, make the béchamel: Melt the remaining ½ tablespoon of butter in a small pan over medium-low heat. Whisk in the flour and cook for about 1 minute, until fully combined and fragrant. Slowly whisk in the milk and cook, stirring frequently, for about 8 minutes, until the sauce is thick and creamy.
-Spoon the béchamel over each croissant, then top with the sunny-side up eggs. Season with salt and pepper and garnish with chives.
-Enjoy!

325g or 1 1/2c neutral oil (canola etc)

JAPANESE BBQ SAUCE
50g or 3Tbsp oyster sauce
50g or 2.5Tbsp molasses
5g or 1tsp rice vinegar
50g or 3Tbsp ketchup
5g or about 1Tbsp grated ginger
1g or 1/2tsp garlic powder
1g or 1/2tsp onion powder
20g or 1 1/2Tbsp water
10g or 2tsp soy sauce
50g or 4Tbsp worcestershire sauce
