After Losing Everything in an Earthquake, She Built This Amazing Tiny House!

After losing her home and everything she owned in the Christchurch Earthquake of 2011, Vicki packed her bags and traveled to Australia where she built a whole new life for herself, including an amazing tiny house on wheels!

Her tiny home is beautifully built and perfectly designed to fit her lifestyle. Situated on an idyllic permaculture farm amongst the tropical forest, this really is an amazing place to call home.

Losing her home and all of her possessions in the earthquake has encouraged Vicki to build a new life focused on the things that are truly important to her and focusing on happiness, not things. There’s a lot to love about this tiny house and the inspiring woman who built it.

I’ve been requested to do more cute and simple hairstyles for school, so here ya go! (: This is one of those messy updos you can wear on your lazy days or when your hair feels icky and you just wanna tie it out of your face. It’s wearable for every seasons; for winter & autumn, you can add some earmuffs and for spring & summer, you can just leave this as it is.

It took me no more than 2 mintues so this is definitely an on-the-go hairstyle :D. Have fun, gals! & I will be back with more.

How to knit a cable over 4 sts without a cable needle

In this DROPS video we show how to knit a cable over 4 stitches without using a cable needle. We show both a cable to the right and to the left in this video.

Cable turning right: yarn in front of work, slip 2 sts onto right needle, yarn to back of work, K2, from behind pick up the 2 slipped sts on left needle, drop the first 2 sts on right needle + 2 slipped sts and then put the first two sts back on right needle again, yarn to back of work and K2.

Cable turning left: slip 2 sts, K2, from front pick up the 2 slipped sts on left needle, drop the first 2 sts on right needle + 2 slipped sts and then put the first two sts back on right needle again, K2.

How to decrease by knitting 2 stitches together (K2tog)

In this DROPS video we show how to knit 2 stitches together (aka K2tog).

This is probably the easiest way to decrease 1 stitch: knit 2 stitches together as one. In the video we first knit 2 stitches together in the front loops, the dec leans right.
Then we knit 2 stitches twisted together, i.e. we knit them together in the back loops and the dec leans to the left.

This video has NO SOUND – you must read the pattern to be able to follow this video properly.

It seems like many of you liked how versatile they were so I’m back again with another one! The side fishtail braid is cute for spring and summer, and even though it looks quite casual in the front, it’s super pretty from the back! The second hairstyle, which is just a quick transformation from the first hairstyle, is a gorgeous updo that you can wear to any formal or special occasions.

Both of these hairstyles took only minutes to do, and the best thing is, they’re heat-free! 🙂

I bought and used the one above but would not recommend it because it wasn’t comfortable and long-lasting :C
If you’re planning to do this Erza cosplay, I highly suggest using self-adhering tape instead of athletic tape because it’s more breathable. I got mine from Wal-Mart. You should also wear a white bandeau underneath to prevent clothing malfunction!

A lot of you have asked for me to do another bang-cutting tutorial since the last time you saw me sport these short bangs that could be worn on the side or in the front. That’s why I call them “versatile;” You can wear them any way you wish!

I would recommend using a hair razor instead of scissors for this tutorial because it’ll give you more of a choppy-layery effect. It’s also best if you work with dry hair (especially if you’re a beginner) because you want to know exactly where your bangs will be. I purchased my hair razor from a store called “Daiso Japan.” It only costed me about 3 dollar and it’s so convenient since I can fold it and take it anywhere with me!
It has two sides, and I use the one that cuts less hair. Here are pictures for reference!

Of course, you can use any hair razor that can be purchased at your local beauty supply store or drugstore.

If you don’t have any bangs to begin with, I would suggest you to start cutting your hair into longer side swept bangs with this tutorial.

If you have curly/wavy hair, I wouldn’t recommend you getting this type of bangs unless you’re willing to straighten your hair daily. If you have a really short or round face shape, I wouldn’t recommend this bangs either because it’ll just make it appear rounder ^^; Try to go for longer side swept bangs instead!

P.S. In case you’re wondering, I don’t do anything to style my bangs. After I wash my hair, I just part and brush it to the side and my bangs would stay in place after it dries up.

✔ TIPS & TRICKS
If you’re having some trouble with this hair tutorial, try the tips below for long lasting curls:
1. If your hair is thick and long, divide it into more smaller sections (6-8) and use more pens/pencils
2. Wrap your hair tighter around the pens/pencils. If they become loose, you can use a butterfly clip to secure them.
3. Don’t do this right after you wash your hair. You hair should only be 20-30% damp. This will not work well with wet hair.
4. Wait for your hair to be COMPLETELY dry before taking the pens/pencils out. This is very important if you want long-lasting curls.
5. Keep practicing! After several times, you’ll know what will work best for your hair.
6. If all else fails, you can try my other heatless curling tutorials to see if they are better for you. 🙂
