Directions
Cook thoroughly. Cooking instructions: for food safety and quality follow these cooking instructions. Conventional ovens (recommended): Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Remove heat-safe tray from carton. Remove film from tray. Place on cooking sheet in center of oven for 35 minutes. Spoon gravy over turkey slices. Cook for 20 to 25 minutes more or until fully cooked. Carefully remove cooking sheet from oven with oven mitts and let stand 2 minutes. Product will be hot. Check that product is cooked thoroughly. Internal temperature needs to reach 165 degrees F as measured by a food thermometer in several spots. Microwave ovens: Remove heat-safe tray from carton. Place the heat-safe tray on a microwave-safe plate. Cut 3 inch slit in film to vent. Microwave on high (100% power) for 17 to 18 minutes or until fully cooked. Let stand 2 minutes. Carefully remove microwave-safe plate with oven mitts from microwave oven. Product will be hot. Check that product is cooked thoroughly. Internal temperature needs to reach 165 degrees F as measured by a food thermometer in several spots. Note: Due to variance in appliances cooking times and/or temperatures may require adjustment. Always handle tray with oven mitts.

Tip: serve a holiday dinner! Add carrots & green beans, then top with sweet potatoes or stuffing.

Keep frozen. Keep frozen until ready to use. Do not re-freeze.

Kashmiri Chilli powder (कश्मीरी मिर्च) – 1½ tsp

Tomato,medium (टमाटर) – 4 nos
Salt (नमक) – ½ tsp
Capsicum (शिमला मिर्च) – 2 nos

Kasoori methi (कसूरी मेथी) – a pinch
Amchur powder (अमचूर) – 1 tsp
Chilli flakes (कुटी मिर्च) – 1 tsp

PART 2: SET THE BAR.

I’m all for healthy eating but not at the expense of something that ain’t gonna taste good. Throughout my fitness career, I’ve had almost every type of protein bar and powder, and TBH I can tell you that I’ve never found one that I’d eat for fun.

Over the past year and and a half I’ve been working on a developing a protein bar inspired by cereal bars. I just wanted something CRUNCHY! And sweet but like, not too sweet! Supplement bars tend to have this thing where they overcompensate for the weird taste with more fake sugar and I simply CANNOT.

This was my first stab of creating a protein bar and honestly, I had a much smoother time with this development compared to the protein powders! I owe it all to the pea crisps and brown rice crisps bc they really gave my bar that Rice Krispies energy! I legit eat the Snickerdoodle bar for fun. Like not just post workout, but I legit just choose it over chips during that 3pm slump. Like WHAT IS THAT!? And I love chips!!!

Ok but taste aside the box itself deserves its own paragraph bc seriously. It’s a beaut. You see the stripes on the top of the box? Does it remind you of something? Maybe the awning of a sweet little bakery in a quaint neighborhood? It took a long time to get the packaging down. Every draft just felt so blah. So regular. Then I thought about what feeling or memory I wanted my packaging to evoke, and it struck me. My box needed to be a mini bakery. My box needed to emit food vibes! When I finally saw the sample of the gold awning on top of my little box, my heart felt complete.

So there you have it! My first ever protein bars! I can’t even believe it. Like the powders, they are plant based and gluten free! Right now they come in 2 flavors:

Snickerdoodle — my fave
Chocolate Peanut Butter — Sam approved

They’re available at Target in store and online! I hope you get to try it! Please tell me what you think. I’m always so nervous with food launches bc we all have such different taste buds! But I also wouldn’t ever release anything I don’t stand a million % behind, so YOU BETTER LOVE IT!!!

Handgemachte Fensterläden aus Vollholz sind die Spezialität der Brüder Fabio und Alex Hupfauf. Für ein denkmalgeschütztes Schulhaus in Welzheim schreinern sie 52 neue Läden, die den Originalen so ähnlich wie möglich sein sollen.

Bereits im Sägewerk erfolgt der erste Arbeitsschritt. Hier suchen sich die beiden Brüder jene Planken, die ihren Ansprüchen genügen: mit stehenden Jahresringen, möglichst astfrei und ausreichend breit sollte das Holz sein. Denn was folgt, soll einmal 100 Jahre halten: Ohne Dübel, Schrauben oder Nägel und dabei genau auf Maß gearbeitet, vervollständigen die Läden das Gesicht des Hauses. Später, wenn ihnen Sonne und Regen, Kälte und Hitze zusetzen, dürfen sie sich nicht verziehen und keine Lamelle klappern. Das ist die Kunst der beiden Brüder, für die sie Denkmalämter und Architekten schätzen.

As we’ve discussed in the past few weeks, we sometimes view getting vulnerable and leaning on our friends or others as “weak” or “cowardly.” But, healthy friendships can guard against a host of health problems, as well as loneliness and isolation. And, at least in my case, can completely change the course of your career.

This post is dedicated to the friend who changed the course of my entire life. Friends can do that, you know? I think there’s this belief that some of us carry that it’s somehow weak to rely on friendships, to accept help when it’s given to us. Or maybe we are suspicious of such offers, wondering “well, if you do this for me, what will I owe you?” I’m definitely one of those persons! Lucky for me, all Kim-Julie wanted from me was a book, and I delivered—three years later, but still!

At the end of the day, not all of us are built with an innate sense of confidence. I wish I could step forward with certainty day-in and day-out, but the truth is, I’m always second guessing the path I’ve chosen, and I am far more intimate with uncertainty than I am with assurance. As such, friends who believe in me—a little more than I believe in myself—have played a crucial role in achieving success and, more importantly, helping me to define purpose, without which I’d never know the kind of joy that I’ve claimed as my inheritance.

As for the sandwich featured herein, I used oyster mushrooms from my local farmer’s market, created a dredge using a blend of some all purpose flour, sweet white rice flour, and some of my favorite ramen seasoning. For the liquid portion, I used the same blend, plus a little vegan egg, and sparkling water. Dipped the mushrooms: DRY, WET, DRY before dropping them in some hot oil. For my sandwich dressing, I mixed gochujang, hummus, chopped bread and butter pickles, and some pickle juice—it turned out AMAZING. For a little extra crunch, I mixed together some julienned carrot and cabbage. Enjoy!

DAHI PAPDI CHAAT
Preparation time 10-15 minutes
Cooking time 25-30 minutes
Serve 2

Ingredients
For Dough
2 cups Refined flour, मैदा
2 heaped tbsp Semolina, सूजी
1 tbsp Gram flour, बेसन
Salt to taste, नमक स्वादअनुसार
2 tsp Oil, तेल
½ tsp Black peppercorns, crushed, काली मिर्च के दाने
Water as required, पानी
1 tsp Oil (After kneading) तेल

For Tamarind Chutney
2 cups Water, पानी
1 cup Tamarind, इमली
1 cup Jaggery, गुड़
4-5 Dates, खजूर
Salt to taste, नमक स्वादअनुसार
1-2 tsp Oil, तेल
5-6 no. Black peppercorns, काली मिर्च के दाने
2-3 Green cardamom, हरी इलायची
1 tsp Degi red chili powder, देगी लाल मिर्च पाउडर

For Aloo Filling
5-6 Boiled potato, peeled & roughly chopped, आलू
⅓ cup Brown chana, boiled, चना
1 inch Ginger (peeled & finely chopped) अदरक
1 ½ tbsp Coriander leaves, finely chopped, धनिया पत्ता
Prepared Tadka, तैयार किया हुआ तड़का

For Chat Masala
1 heaped tbsp Cumin seeds, जीरा
1 tsp Fennel seeds, सौंफ
1 heaped tbsp Black peppercorns, काली मिर्च के दाने
1 Green Cardamom, हरी इलायची
1 Black cardamom seeds, बड़ी इलायची के दाने
¼ tsp Mustard seeds, सरसों के बीज
1 ½ tsp Coriander seeds, धनिया के बीज
Salt to taste, नमक स्वादअनुसार
1 ½ tsp Dry mango powder, आमचूर पाउडर
½ tsp Degi red chili powder, देगी लाल मिर्च पाउडर

For Tadka
1-2 tsp Oil, तेल
A pinch of asafoetida, हींग

For Tempering Chutney
2 tsp Oil, तेल
2 no. Dry kashmiri red chili, broken into half, सूखी कश्मीरी लाल मिर्च
10-12 no. Raisins, किशमिश
A pinch of asafoetida, हींग
2-3 tbsp Water, पानी
Prepared Tamarind chutney, इमली की चटनी
Water as required, पानी

For Green Chutney
3-4 no. Green chili, less spicy, हरी मिर्च
1 inch Ginger, peeled & sliced, अदरक
½ cup Mint leaves, पुदीना पत्ता
1 cup Coriander leaves, धनिया पत्ता
½ tsp Sugar, चीनी
Salt to taste, नमक स्वादअनुसार
1 ½ tbsp Oil, तेल

Oil for frying, तेल तलने के लिए

For Boondi
2 cups Gram flour, बेसन
1 tsp Turmeric powder, हल्दी पाउडर
Salt to taste, नमक स्वादअनुसार
1 tbsp Oil, तेल
⅓ cup Water, पानी

For Assembling
Fried Papdi, तली हुई पापड़ी
Prepared Tamarind chutney, इमली की चटनी
Prepared Aloo Filling, तैयार किया हुआ आलू का मिश्रण
Curd, beaten, दही
Pomegranate pearls, अनार के दाने
Prepared Chat masala, तैयार किया हुआ चाट मसाला
Prepared Green chutney, हरी चटनी
Fried Boondi, तली हुई बूंदी
Prepared Tamarind chutney, इमली की चटनी
A pinch of Degi red chili powder, देगी लाल मिर्च पाउडर

For Agra Style Papdi Chaat

The "Raised Reversed Stem" broke my brain. It might be genius.

I received a box containing the “Raised Reversed” mountain bike stem. Install this on your bike, and you’ll surely agree that it looks completely sketchy and unstable. Surprisingly, it’s not, and in this video I’ll explain why.

I’m continuing to test this stem and will give long-term results at some point, but in my early tests this thing felt good on descents. On climbs, I wasn’t quite adjusted to it and I’ve heard the same from others. The creator of the Raised Reversed Stem completely disagrees, and says you need to get used to it and change your body position to see the benefits. He seems like a genuinely smart and honest guy, and so I don’t doubt that he could be right. I just don’t see it yet.

I’ve seen some other concepts like Mondraker’s “Forward” geometry, which do have some similarities with the RR stem, but nothing yet that transforms a normal enduro bike into something so confusing.

At $400, the RR is probably the most expensive stem you can buy, but considering a single engineer created this in tiny numbers with what we can only assume is an outsourced CNC service, the price makes perfect sense. Is it worth it? That will take me more time to tell you, but it’s worth a discussion.
