Cellphone companies may be bending the rules by letting children authorize additional data without their parents’ permission. Although the CRTC’s Wireless Code was brought in to prevent bill shock, it doesn’t seem to be working for some families.

Turn the data off for kids….they dont need to be using their phones as computers….
In Saskatchewan they have Sasktel unlimited plans they just slow the data speed down after a lot of data but then no overage charge

Telus no longer has data overage fees thank god so SOME right has come out of this.
I used to work in a call centre for T-Mobile and only the account holder and one authorized user could make any billing changes.
So sad….that this kid's they have no f…g clue about anything today without a cellphone. Or a Net service. Nice future…wow !
