Leaving the scale on is genius.
Cool video, but the worst part of most draw knives for me is they're all way too short. I build log homes and we build our draw knives out of old 24" planer blades. Keeps our fingers from scraping against the bark when we're peeling it off.
The use of "Schmutz" really caught me off guard.
My next project is melting down high carbon steel allen wrenches to make a hella camp tool set.
First job will be a knife of any kind (haven't decided yet)
Eventually I wanna figure out a collapsible shovel/saw
I wouldn't call myself a jack of all trades…
More of a… Projex men
… You did everything except shape the billet.
Why not start from scratch? If you're going to do all the heat treat and grinding ANYWAY, might as well pick the steel too
That's STUPID sharp
I didn't even know you could purchase a draw knife from a big box store
Paint sooo dear at bunnings
I donβt get it? Phuc that junk co.
So basically, the make em to break easily
Wtf….cheap rubbish into a family heirloom πππ
so the steel is ok but the rest is crap. good job making a nice tool. ive never used a drawknife.
I wish I didnt own one but I guess I could always own two!
Amazing. Bought one off of temu. Def going to give this a go myself
Absolutely awesome
Thank you my friend for the Knowledge. That's more important to me than a tool because I will make what I have work.
