COMPLETE EXTREME KITCHEN MAKEOVER (WITH REVEAL!!)

Taking on a kitchen reno is honestly really scary and daunting (this doesn’t go away once you start, it’s over and I still feel stressed about every decision). Not only is it inevitably going to be expensive and routine disturbing – but there are also a million things to consider in the design process!

I’m so glad to be done this space. They say the journey is part of the fun (for most things) but honestly, I would not be mad if I didn’t have to go through a kitchen journey again anytime soon. I find having to make decisions that feel so finite very overwhelming and intimidating. BUT having a space that functions pretty well (let me know if you want the kitchen regrets TEA in the comments), and looks and feels like home was very worth it!

  1. I've been more emotionally invested in your kitchen than my own. Love the final result!

  2. I also had a small-ish kitchen, and mine had soffits above the cabinets. We gutted the room, and made cabinets to the ceiling – so much more space! We also had a peninsula with upper cabinets…and a soffit. Because the peninsula did not go back in, we had to redo our ceiling, too. The kitchen, living room, and hallway were all connected, so they were all scraped and a new light texture put on. I didn’t realize how yellowed the ceilings were until we replaced them. Love how you got so much storage in such a small space. (And I like the table, as is.)

  3. Just watched, the part where the counter guy measured for the sink n it kinda pissed me off, he should just keep his mouth quiet and do the job unless it's not gonna be structurally sound if you want the sink to only have 2" all around the sink it's your sink and your choice you can tell he just didn't like it and that's not something he would do but as long as it wasn't going to not hold or be structurally sound he didn't need to give his opinion on where you want your sink in my opinion the sink will look fine, if that's what u want he should do it or tell u why it couldn't be done. He doesn't need to give his opinion as far if he would like HIS sink squished in like that. If you want it done like that and it can be done safely then he should have just installed the sink or gonna watch the rest of the video now

  4. I will be waiting to hear how you like the black granite sink. I could not get rid of mine soon enough. Water spots were so difficult to get rid of. Your counters are beautiful and the quartzite is a much better choice than the maybe (from a easier to care for pov).

  5. Can you please post a tutorial on your blog on how to make the bench cushions? Thanks!

  6. I love seeing Craftsmen with their special tools like the cabinet maker and his "handle jig" I hate drilling into new cabinet fronts maybe that's why I went knobless in my current kitchen ????????

  7. What if you made the floating shelves walnut? That would be a beautiful option that would warm up that side of the kitchen 🙂

  8. I have that same cabinet hole jig thing and I got it on Amazon for like 15. Or $20 works like a charm.

  9. “That doesn’t seem right” responded to with “well it’s what I want”! YAAAAS????

  10. Idk, at the end of the day it’s a black and white, subway tile kitchen, looks great tho I would have loved more character and color

  11. i agree with some others that said to do a walnut table, you can usually find some butler block cut offs fairly cheap and can be stained to add that warmth of the walnut brown to match the drawer pulls! the kitchen is gorgeous!

my only “issue” is the wall art. i think it’s way too small for the space as well as, one thing that weirdly rubbed me the wrong way is that you would purchase a piece of history so to speak and then have no intentions of using such an amazing photo when a different frame could of been purchased or made for cheap ¯_(ツ)_/¯ it’s your space and vision, I don’t know just felt wrong, but could just be me

  12. Could you link the video where Rachael does the heavy gloss gel art and the name of the art piece from the Met?

  13. Absolutely love the new kitchen ???????? maybe a wooden table top wud add some warmth and a natural feel?

  14. Yay! Nice to see it all come together. Wondering if it's possible to stain the marble tabletop? (Not that it's currently a noticeably different vibe) Could be fun to arty it up with few different shades of a colour rubbed into the surface…green? ????

  15. Can someone explain why a sink in an island is not a good idea? Ik kelsey said the comments advised against it in one of her videos I think

  16. Congrats on your new kitchen! You will I'm sure sort out the floating shelves and then they'll be terrif — the styling is already great. I love the two pendants and the two pieces of wall art. The countertops are the bomb. Sorry that I favor the shape of the previous chairs — maybe with a dark stain? — over these.
