This man is a blessing and has a wonderful message. Only downside is his videos always make me hungry ????
I cooked some collard greens with leftover daikon…..*chefs kiss❤
False, this country's greatest strength is the fact that we have the freedom to express, hence allowing cultures to come up and be recognized similarly to how you are able to express these not always correct opinions
I wish my country's greatest strength is ???? too…
Just tonight I made Eggplant-Tomato Tikka Masala. Remember, tomatoes came from America, there are historic mixes of foods all over the place. Chinese use corn, potatoes & tomatoes in unique dishes. We're 1 world.
but everyone is gonna say "thats cultural appropriation"
Fuck yas. This. I love you so much and you are the future of chefs/food culture. Pls PREACH!!!
I agree but with a caveat. Due to being black, it is a bit of a sore point. But historically, the involvement of blacks culturally have been nearly wiped from the annals of American history. People only think of music and sports when it comes to black people culturally, and food is just soul food; but our ancestors had a hand in various food whether that be barbecue, creole, or even something like Martha Washington’s cookbook. BIPOC have always had their culture exploited for profit and they don’t reap any benefits from this cross cultural pollination. So it is a very thin line between appropriation and exploitation vs celebration.
I do agree, but I find it unfortunate that this entire cross-cultural culinary exchange inevitably ends up 1) whitewashing culture for mainstream palatability and 2) raising prices on certain items to the point of cost becoming an exclusionary factor
Jon and I have the same feelings on cooking and my god I love it
PREACHHHHHHH ❤
This is why I love watching your videos! I love making other cuisines, but more and more i meet people who think I’m stealing culture, which makes me sad, because I really just want to be a mad scientist in the kitchen and make something cool
I also don't think that anyone has been made to keep to themselves for a VERY long time. I see alot of ethnic groups that stick to themselves by choice not because of any outside influence or pressure
