Pole saw, (for hewing off branches,) that's the ticket. Didn't know the name till now, but I've s seen em being used by men seated in bucket seat equipped pylons extended out of tree disposal utility trucks along NJ roadsides.

    Cool man.

Loved the video! It gave me more ideas on how to clear some big trees that cracked and are leaning on other trees. ????

Yeah, there's more to it than a fear of heights. You're way on 2 vertical stilts with rungs …So, what's to feel secure about when you're up on a ladder anyway? Yeah, nailing the steps onto 2 parallel trees is innovative for sure.

Yeah, sure , a chainsaw, and handy saw with the extended blade to hack off branches; beata a hacksaw, which of course beats an ax! However, hahaha, if I had my druthers , I'd rather pull up on a crane , (fully equipped with chains, ropes ,and pulleys! )…Haha, it would be boringly easy I'm sure! Lol.

I was planning on heading up to our lake house in a couple of weeks to take down a huge dead oak tree and some other smaller spruce. BUT I've been unwell with long covid for nearly a year (brain fog, leg pain etc) and your words of warning regarding safety were heard loud and clear.

Might be a good idea to call a professional given the circumstances.

We bought a waterfront waterfront cottage that had been neglected for 20 years and it was a crap load of work but when you get to the point where you can start to enjoy it it is all worth it.

Got a similar mess. Trees entangled in other trees precariously hanging over the driveway. This wind has done a serious number on everyone around.
