Hey guys! I’m Alexandra Gater and I show you how to do rental-friendly upgrades and DIY projects on a budget. New videos every Saturday! Today I am transforming a tiny bathroom into a vintage-inspired, dark and moody space. I up-cycle a thrifted vanity and give the walls a lime wash effect, but with regular wall paint!

  1. Great elements, dislike the painting technique used. Love the colour choice however!

  2. Wasn't sure if I was going to like the painting technique, but I love it. The mirror is stunning!

  3. Ohhh!! I don't have anything good to say about this make over, but as long as the client likes it, it's fine…..for them!

  4. Love seeing different content like this instead of your same style on repeat

  5. Truly beautiful………paint effect so much more interesting than plain paint. I think I have the nerve to do this now…..

  6. Base coat of paint followed by texture. Sorry, this just is bad. Moody is great just not this technique.

  7. No to the sponge technique as a whole – every test paint you did, I was hoping you'd conclude that it looked terrible & go with something else.
I mean, you made it work, but just painting it navy might have looked nicer. It looks like her kids did the walls.

  8. I love everything you do Alexandra, but growing up in the eighties when sponged walls were popular, still not a fan

  9. I love the vanity, sink and the hardware, it's perfect with the painted color. It is a perfect guest bathroom. Another beautiful makeover, what a great team. Love the laughter ????????
