There are four types of personal growth that I’ve identified and want to share with you. Each stage has its own pros and cons, but understanding each one will help you figure out what’s important to you in the present moment.

Happy Facts Lifestyle - Live Your Dream Life says:

This was excellent, thank you for the fantastic video. What's interesting is I think you will be at different stages depending on the different facets that make up the totality of your life. At the same time, usually I would guess it would be specific to what's most important in that moment in your life

Naturenerd1000 says:

I'm in open expansion most of the time. It's good that the box is expanding but I want laser focus so I just focus on one thing at a time really well or really learn a new skill complete a project or career path rather being divided in 5 and not advancing forward quickly or just doing ok in any one thing. Forward and Narrow focus. Great video explained really well.

I've read about this. A psychologist listed four stages of person growth. He said it requires a specific task to be completed before a person can continue personal growth. I think it's an interesting idea how I can have something I can do immediately to progress myself. What do u think?

Jehoaddin Mewi says:

Great video..

Eurospezial says:

Interesting, but rather inspiring than enlighting, nonetheless – thx for sharing and all the best.

Emi E says:

Very inspirational video! As I recently started my first job as a psychologist, all my energy has been on that – I was worried that I was closing myself off from life by focusing only on becoming a better psychologist. By looking at it like you describe in your video, I can see that it's just another type of growth!

Jennifer Ann de la Torre says:

I have reached narrow focus in taekwondo in only four months. I have my orange belt test this Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at 7 PM. I have been taking private lessons in addition to my regular training of two to three days a week. I have missed several classes for health reasons; I have been practicing six hours a day at home. My ultimate goal is black belt with the desire to be a taekwondo instructor. I have been thrifting and shopping less to pay my tuition. I made a decision to abstain from buying more seasonal decor; I have more than enough home decor to create a beautiful living space. May I ask how you came up with these phases of growth? Did you get these ideas from a book? I love to read; I have about 2000 books.

Cliff DaRiff says:

shifting between each focus is when one must stay motivated. for example if you go from forward to narrow….you could lose track.

Anne Howe says:

In principle that should be the pathway we use to educate our children until gradually they find their small area of focus and develop its expertise. We can be in all four phases at once with different projects: highly focused at work, expansion focus when we experience a new environment etc. Very fascinating thank you.

William Mankelow says:

I'm in all four at the moment on different projects.

Shoeless Joe says:

Great video! Now I'm going to have to sit and ponder which phase I am currently in. I feel like the school system should be helping young people explore in Open Expansion, but instead it just limits them, tells them to skip all the way to forward focus and go to college. Thanks for the food for thought 🙂

Sarah Eriksson says:

Feels like I just went from open to narrow. Have forever felt like I need to get out there and get new friends, find a hobby etc. My promise to my self for 2016 is to be brave and get outside my comfort zone. The moment I said yes everything changed, and an evening class, led to a new friend who brought me to a choir which was so fun. Then I desided to take singing lessons and my teacher was so impressed and wanted me in her proffessional choir who sings with serious artists and actually get paid to sing. I couldnt belive it. So my focus is a bit more narrowed now, moving to focused 😄 Thanks so much for yet an other greate video 👍
