Hey Ian, I've had some experience with intermittent fasting. As someone who practices Islam, every year during the Holy month of Ramadan, Muslims fast from sunrise to sunset for approximately 1 month. No food, no water, no sex, you name it haha. I always try to get my daily calorie intake in before I go to bed and before sunrise, but it's tough. Generally I lose 10-15 lbs every year and then gain it back shortly after Eid. It's always tough for me to find the energy to get to the gym during Ramadan, obviously because your tank is already empty. Some years I have more motivation and willpower than others. The first week is by far the hardest and then your body adjusts. That being said, it's always tough to train when you have no fuel in the tank and it really kicks the crap out of you haha. I've never intentionally done intermittent fasting as part of a lifestyle change or related to my fitness goals though, so I'm interested to see how this and the paleo diet work out for you. Merry Christmas & all the best in 2018!

I strongly recommend that you check out Dr. Berg's channel regarding intermittent fasting. This man knows his stuff! With the modest goal of losing 1 lb per week, I've gone from 245lb 44in chest 44in waist (not a good look at 5ft6in let alone potential health issues), to current weight of 175lbs 43 chest 34waist. Goal is to maintain btwn 160 – 170. Even though don't get cravings, I find myself cheating about one day every 4 – 5 weeks and I'm still getting steady results. Does 1 lb come off every week? Of course not. I lose and plateau. I don't change anything and the plateau breaks on its own and the cycle repeats.
In a nut shell:
No grains (rice , bread, pasta, white flour)
No sugar , corn, peas, milk, all potatoes.

Fat intake 75-80% of daily cal (whole eggs, cheese, avocados, and peanut butter fat bombs makes this so easy!)
Carbs 5-15% of daily cal (greens 4 – 7 cups per day to flush the liver. Your liver needs this as it will be working overtime!)
Protein 10-15% of daily cal

Pro Tips:
Make homemade mayo, make your own ACV salad dressing ( so easy, tastes 100x better than store bought).
Swerve (amazon) instead of table sugar
Turnips instead of potatoes ( the turnip fries, mashes, roasts just like the potato)
Cauliflower rice, cauliflower crust, instead of rice and bread.
Peanut Butter Fat Bombs (I know I listed this already but I really love my fat bombs)
Dr. Berg's website has keto recipes and I also recommend Headbanger' Kitchen on YouTube for keto recipes you might appreciate.

All the best and hope you hit all your goals in 2018!
