Which rolling knife sharpeners ACTUALLY work?

I tested 4 different rolling knife sharpeners from different price points, and the BIG takeaway wasn’t about price. There was one brand that outperformed even the more expensive options. The original @horl1993. It was so much better that after I performed these tests, they asked me to make this #ad to spread the word about their new options.

The Horl 2 is the classic model and an awesome option for advanced sharpening, but the new Horl 3 cruise is a trimmed down, efficient and easy option for those who just want a sharp knife.

The knock offs had issues with the grit wearing down, and as you can tell from the noises in this video, the mechanisms inside would easily get jammed up and stop working completely. For more details, check out the longer video on my channel.

  1. Some context because I'm sure people will doubt my tests simply because this video was sponsored. No hard feelings. Skepticism is great.

    First: Please watch the FULL video I posted over 6 months ago to see the full tests and the specific takeaways. It was much more nuanced than a 60 second short could ever be. Summary: The original HORL is worth it, the others I tested aren't.

    2nd: Knock-offs are by nature going to take a step down in quality to also take a step down in price. It's just about whether that drop in quality is worth it. BUT considering that the original HORL currently has an option that costs LESS than many of the knock offs, it should be a no brainer which to choose there.

    3rd: Please check my work. Do your research, and see if any of the claims in my videos don't match up with all the other resources that are available to you. My opinion may not match yours, but it is 100% mine, and it is not for sale.

  3. I found that my knock off dose a good job but need to buy more stones to replace the old 1’s get clogged a bit

  5. Well, this is a surprise.
    A guy like me, who almost always makes the wrong choices, decided, without any information, to buy the Horl. Good to know that I at least did two things right (got married 27 years ago).

  15. I bought a Wüsthof sharpener because I have mostly Wüsthof knives. It left weird diagonal marks on the blade of the knife I tried it on. I don't dare use it on any of my good knives. A complete waste of money.
