  1. We currently use an automatic potato slicer. It cuts perfect fries quickly.

    Yes, fries not chips.
    'Merica!!

We use a 90 count case and it works great…most of the time. Occasionally I need to trim a bit from the top or tail. The fries look fantastic.
2 hour soak, drain, 300°F fry for 3 minutes.
    Cool them down completely.
Fry at 350° for 2-3 minutes.

  2. We have a big metal one from the 40s, great for small fries but i prefer to hand cut mine into steak fries

  3. Started our kids young with knives, firearms and chainsaws….shocking to some but absolutely necessary local knowledge.

They can cook, clean hit the target and drop a tree and miss the barn and house.

I'm not perfect. But think we did alright by them.

  4. Would a mandolin with an attachment work? At least a mandolin is multi use. Also never get a professional chef cooking equipment unless you are also a professional chef.

  5. Haha I have this exact item! I too got it jammed with a big potato and mine also fell apart on me when I tried forcing it šŸ˜‚ however, I reeeeally don't like cutting chips manually so I went to the length of disassembling and reassembling it entirely. Now I trim larger potatoes so they fit. I don't mind smaller chips as they're often crispier anyway!

So maybe it's not a commercial grade chip cutter, but for home use it's not too bad for its cost

  6. It exists in France for minimum the last 50years and the metal one from Moulinex works great
