Early 1900s Two-Flat Renovated into HUGE Single-Family Home | Windy City Rehab | HGTV

Alison decides to renovate a huge early-1900s home in Lincoln Square that’s been split into a two-flat and convert it back to a single-family home. But with enormous size comes additional expenses and delays that threaten every dollar of their profit.

Interior designer Alison Victoria combines upscale design with a passion for her hometown as she buys and restores old homes in Chicago. For these neglected homes in historic neighborhoods, she works to restore dignity to the homes while adding more square footage, style and modern twists. But each house has a past, and she never knows what challenges lie hidden beneath the decades of paint and plaster. #HGTV #WindyCityRehab #Renovation

  1. Wait a minute this has to be really old. It Has to be because didn’t she sue this guy a couple years ago when he was ripping her off?

  2. Ah, the memories! We lived in one unit of a 6-flat in Hyde Park when I was in graduate school. Loved the unit, and Hyde Park.

  3. I'm not seeing how they're so savvy flipping cause I see many of these flips with little ROI, it's a hard pass my ass working and stressing over that, on top of her partner's cut

  4. What a big shame. She was admiring everything about that house and I thought this house would have turned out great. Since this is HGTV I should have known. Typical high beam ceilings, most of the walls are pretty much non existent, boring barn doors.

  5. i have 1 question why no curtains or anything else in the bathroom
you don't just stand naked in front of the window
the rest looks great, only those asking prices are not that common here
you have to earn quite a bit to be able to afford this
(the prices here are also rising considerably with an ordinary wage you can not buy anything)

  6. I can’t believe how she just complemented the house and then tears it down in the next breath ,how sad!!!!

  7. Wow, won't even be over-improved?? My goodness, Chicago has great real estate value!!

  8. Sorry can't watch , love her but never did like that x partner , something off with him and sure enough he stole from this poor women that did all the work " he was worthless . I'm pretty good at being right on and I was this time ! I hope more of her work is shown without him in it because this young lady has tons of talent and only her that creepy guy has none ! But thankfully it was her work that went into everything ! She's one of the best and extremely hard worker extremely talented ! But I cannot stand that guy glad he's out of the picture now !

  9. This is how you ruin an old house, Home depot style. Take out anything and everything decorative and original and then replace it with farm house decor? Perfect example of flipping for profit.

  10. I just love how she walks through the before house talking about how much she loves everything and all the original detail, and then in the next shot it’s gutted down to the bare exterior walls ????
