Please, please. please, do not build a bench like this and expect to use it safely. The length of span with that wood thickness and assembly method will not hold a full-grown adult. Also, never hold your hand so close to what you are nailing. Nails can deflect, and if you follow her example, you could easily hurt yourself. I truly hope she takes some time to learn before posting any more of these videos. At the very least, consult with people who actually know what they are doing.

I’d love to know how much it came to. Buying wood is so expensive here in the U.K. and fabric shops always make me want to pee from the prices. The only thing for me is 1×1’s don’t seem sturdy enough for someone to sit on it.
I'd rather kill myself than go threw that pain.

For this, just get a Shaker Furniture Kit. They have done the heavy lifting for you for sure. And the benches are functional and last forever.
Anyone in their right mind would never have the long horizontal pcs. just nailed to the side frames. At least they should rest on top of the vertical. Using nails does and will not have any supporting strength especially sideways. I guess this way people say she has no idea how to build correctly. I WOULDN'T SIT ON THAT AT ALL.
Those are not 1×1's. Using a nailer to hold frames together is a big mistake. They will pull out later. There is no strength value! Good grief what a farse!
