  1. I mean, technically it's rainforest, but I wouldn't really use that term for what is just forest.

  2. I'm just starting my journey to this in the Ozarks of America. This hits really close to home. I'll watch your long form tonight.

  3. Check out Crime Pays but Botany Doesn't. Your video has the same vibe.

  4. Someone is mistakenly calling it "Sub-tropical" but this is a "Temperate Rainforest". Western Washington state, Western British Columbia and Southeastern Alaska all have Temperate Rainforests. Although Washington and BC have desecrated their forestlands terribly, Alaska got smart activists who woke up the people to pritecting the old growth foresys before too late. These forests are the Lungs of the world!

  5. I lived in west cork for 20 years near dromillihy forest because I missed forests from my Canadian childhood. It was such a small forest but felt like home. When we moved back I was so happy to have forests everywhere again and my best friend visited and was like YOUR TREES ARE SO OLD HERE!

Love hearing about forest protectors in my auld neighbourhood 😊

  6. I can honestly say that I never knew that Ireland had Rainforest. It makes sense once you think about it. I remember as a kid visiting Ireland in the 1980’s and seeing actual Palm Trees on Irelands southern coast. Even though they’re not native to Ireland I was still amazed that they were able to grow them there

  7. I didn’t know Ireland had rainforests, I can only imagine it’s a subtropical variety as well. It’s a truly rare environment, the only other sub tropical rain forest (that I know of) being along America’s Pacific Northwest. Bio diversity here (PNW) is also fairly on the brink of meltdown, and I love seeing people make the effort to repair what our species has royally muffed up. Although we’re from different parts of the world, I’d like to thank you for using your platform to spread awareness about the impact we’ve had/could have on our environments. Like a mother with dementia, this planet has taken care of us since the branches which cradled our early ancestors, and as such we must take care of her in return. Much love ❤

  8. The channel islands off California have had animals grazed on them for decades. The patch where they stopped grazing ag animals has completely different flora. Night & day difference.

  9. Must be a hard thing to do, balancing the original nature of the land, with being able to use the land to make a living. When you're confined to such a tiny amount of land.

  10. Did not anticipate learning that Ireland has its own Rainforest', and thats pretty cool!

  11. Incredible, that this is privately owned? The whole population should have access to it!

  12. That's absolutely great! Lots of hard work, I'm sure, but it does pay off. Inspiring other people, bringing them hope, and most importantly, helping our planet to heal.

  13. Does this mean Ireland has no native grazers? That seems impossible. Good short, Eoin. Thank you for sharing.
