French Pastries Explained (Most of Them)

French pastry breakdown! Of course, these are not ALL the pastries in the French bakery scene. I left out some of my personal favorites, and many of the “patisserie” or sugary sweet treats that you’ll find in most French pastry shops.

My goal of this short was just to focus on some of the baked goods that you’ll find in most BOULANGERIEs or bakeries in France, so that travelers will feel more comfortable trying something new.

Just try what looks good, the only way to mess up is if you only get a croissant and baguette because you’re afraid to try something new.

  1. Of course, these are not ALL the pastries in the French bakery scene. Please explain it to everyone else in a comment, and then it will be a part of this video's "footnotes." Thanks.

  2. If you go to France don't be alarmed by all the bees flying over the pastries, it's completely normal 🥐

  3. About the chocolatine, there's a conflict about its name. Obviously the wrong name is "pain au chocolat".
