Front Patio Done! Let’s Entertain!

In retrospect, it happened so quickly! The front patio is done, and even though it is still surrounded by a sea of mud, my mind is already planning on strategies to up the entertainment ante of using this space. #gardendesign #cottagegarden #patio #frontyard #landscaping #cottagestyle

  1. Hi Linda I haven't checked in in awhile wow good progress in the front. Are you addressing the lack of privacy? Sorry don't mean to be Debbie Downer but that is a concern with a "new' garden. Just curious.

  2. Just stunning , the pink arrangement. Thank you for the inspiration.????????????????????????

  3. It’s coming together nicely, can’t wait to see you work your magic with all the plants! You’ve inspired me to do a small renovation in my backyard! ????

  4. Really enjoy what you are doing with your home. You are also very lucky to have a green house to winter your plants

  5. Beautiful patio! Love those traveling bricks. I brought my cobblestone and brick with me from my last house. Can't wait to see your planting's that will surround your patio. I enjoy hearing you and Stewart converse during the video.

  6. Please don't buy wine from other countries outside the US. The shipping is very bad for the environment and we grow the best grapes and make great wine here in USA. Look for great affordable wines from USA only!

  7. I’m so glad that you did the patio like you had at your other house. A mixture of stones and brick. And I really like the one turned side way that looks like wood. Love the way things are shaping up. ❤️

  8. Looking so good ???? I really enjoyed watching the section about all the little special everyday things to do to make your day special just for yourself or for friends that come by for a visit. Love those whiskey bottles. Such a cute idea for all the things that you can repurpose. I wish I knew the brand ~ my hubby would drink the booze and then I can have the bottles.????

  9. My copper obelisks came today! I adore them. Already in the pots flanking my front door! Thank you for the inspiration!

  10. My favorite grocery store flower is stock, in the pink and lavender and creamy white colors. It smells so good! It’s so fun coming into your house and seeing the way things are moving along…can’t wait to see the new settee. It sounds perfect for a divider between rooms. And I really do love that little antique chest in your kitchen and your new barstools are the bomb! I had a JACKPOT day at the garden center today—had been looking desperately for a few full-sized old-fashioned juniper/cedar trees to add to my collection and goodness—the prices are insane! I stopped at a little garden center that was going out of business (can’t find workers)…and he sold me his last SEVEN juniper trees for what I would have paid for two at most garden centers. ????????. He was thrilled to get rid of them and I was even more thrilled to have them. I came home and played in the yard all day and the sun was out—no clouds, a beautiful 50-degree day and I had the most wonderful time—it feels so good to get outside on those first warm days of spring and just get your hands in the dirt again. I thought I was kind of done with decorating my yard, but you inspire me, Linda. I know I’m not the only one! ????

  11. I LOVE the bark vases and the bunny planter, but that basket that your sister created is absolutely stunning! Hey Stewart, my sneezes always come in twos (and sometimes threes) like you! Maybe we have a special gene, LOL!

  12. Linda, I think your love of plants is in your blood stream. So with that a really small green house would be great. As the saying goes Less is more.

  13. The patio is fabulous! I noticed that many of the bricks are from Vitrified Brick & Co, Coffeyville, Ks. I have a brick sidewalk up to my front porch and it is made with used brick from the same company. I live in Southwest Missouri (in the very corner, not too far from OKC) and I am very familiar with Coffeyville. We also searched for unique bricks to add to the walk, American flag, "don't spit on the sidewalk", etc. Makes for interesting conversation. Well done!

  14. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the patio. Can’t wait to see it with the table and the market umbrella!

Great placement for the settee in the parlor. Not sure of your styling ideas, but I would do a sofa table with lamps and some creativity, just differentiate the 2 areas. I LOVE that idea! Thanks for the videos and updates.

  15. The patio is lovely. It will feel so cozy once the hedge and surrounding plants go in. What a wonderful place to relax and visit with company.

  16. You are FABULOUS , Linda. My check for the Obelisks is going into the mail tomorrow, can’t wait to have them this season

  17. Tomorrow is the first day of Spring, but it sure doesn't seem like it – we're due for heavy rain again here in Southern CA! But at least by the time the rain ends my yet-to-be-planted things will be really healthy and happy! I love Alstromeria, in any color, and often start with them, then choose other flowers or greenery to go with them. But since I love lime green, it's my fluorite shade of Alstromeria, and it makes it easy to add any other colors.
