  2. Ooohhh I didn't know about the spoon while soaking, but I do know this trick works when cooking porridge or red/mung bean soup. A spoon in the boiling pot of porridge/soup helps the grains/beans break apart faster.

We make it in india too but we mostly don't fry it in oil we fry its just like that during old times there used to be special chimney kinda place to get ur rice puffed n bring it back home we consume puffed rice in big amount so oily puffed rice is not really good choice we fry it just like that. Idk the process exactly since we buy full gunny bags during festivals it's cheap n easily available lighter in weight
