Getting Ready To Race | Goodwood Revival: The Golden Era Of Racing | Episode 2

The next stop on the road to the Goodwood Revival for James Cottingham is to get a proper, bespoke suit made from Savile Row heritage firm Henry Poole. There is no one better to get James ready than Managing Director Simon Cundey, who is also a car aficionado and a member of the Royal Automobile Club.

Everything about the Goodwood Revival is set in period. Not just the vintage racing automobiles on showcase at the Goodwood Revival is from the 1950’s and 1960’s, but everything. From the way in which the tickets are printed to what the spectators and race car drivers are wearing. It is, therefore, important that James be kitted out in the proper attire.

At the same time, back over at DK Engineering, final preparations are well underway on the cars that will be traveling down to Goodwood Revival. This includes the incredible Ferrari 365 Daytona that James and I will be traveling to the Revival in.

DK Engineering are vintage car restoration specialists, with a particular focus on Ferrari.

About This Series:
For years now, I have been exploring the world of quality, craftsmanship, and tradition. This journey has taken me from some of the world’s most highly regarded bespoke tailoring houses, all the way to a proper shooting estate in Scotland.

I have come to believe that nobody does tradition better than the British! From dressing in the proper attire for a given occasion, through to the liturgy of the ceremonial; there is almost always an etiquette routed in tradition at its core.

In this series we explore what could arguably be one of the most exciting of the British traditions: racing.

I’ve been invited by my good friend James Cottingham, to join him as he prepares to race in the Goodwood Revival, the country’s most important vintage car racing event.

So, strap yourselves in and enjoy as we explore Britain’s golden era of racing!

  8. Good news is that Mr.Alex cooke is back to work ..i wish him very healthy life ❤❤????????

  9. Perhaps a quick trip to William Whiteley or Ernest Wright in Sheffield to see how a pair of those shears are made.

  10. Kirby's passion for his subjects is infectious, but the video production quality is simply over the top. The best that exists on YouTube.

  11. I swear this guy is like the gentleman's version of literally everything even Top Gear.
