In this video, Dr. Berg discussed about potassium and its benefits. Potassium has the ability to protect your kidneys, heart and arteries. We’re told that potassium might cause kidney damage, BUT that would only occur if you have chronic end-stage kidney failure which is very rare.
There is a study about potassium protects against stroke where it allows cerebral arteries (arteries of the brain) to carry blood at high pressure without damage. Potassium has the ability to lower blood pressure and decrease the kidney risk of stones.
Cause of Potassium Deficiencies
1. Low Potassium Diet
2. Laxatives
3. Diuretics – people take to lower blood pressure where in fact it depletes the potassium.
4. Cortisol – in the form of prednisone or high levels of cortisol from the adrenals or stress hormones.
5. Diabetes (IR) – with insulin resistance, you can’t absorb potassium that well.

i just wanna say thank u for this vid and the comments….i almost went to the ER because of muscle cramps(charlie horse) but most importantly my heart was beating so fast!!!! i almost had a heart attack, and i called my doctor and the nurse told me to go straight to the ER and not wait. i asked her about potassium and electrolytes, because i drank too much water and flushed out my electrolytes….she said she didnt think it was a problem. but i watched this and other vids and i took a chance and bout some cream of tartar at the supermarket…….im fine today! overnight it fixed the problem. i only took 1/2 tsp. and i didnt go to the ER!!! im ok! what were they gonna put on me, or what prescription were they gonna give me at the ER, and what kind of bill? and all i needed was potassium and they have no clue or just dont tell u….i was gonna probably be put on some prescription that would just make me even worse over time…..thank u so much for this vid!!! ill never be w/out potassium again! although some say that cream of tartar is not great and to take potassium bicarbonate instead so i will switch

What if someone is prone to Kidney stones? I have a friend that every time she attempts Keto (she increases her vegetable intake) she gets pain…her doctors told her to stay away from potassium…
Are the 4700 mg for a 2000 calorie diet? Does the requirement go down for people who need less food?
If you are on the Carnivore Diet and take potassium pills, let's say 2,000-3,000mg a day for a month-or two-then stop, will the body stop expelling potassium so you don't go deficient, or should you maybe go down to 1,000mg pill a day before you cut it out?
It seems like such a uncommon mineral/electrolyte in Norway, it's not even in multivitamin/mineral pills; but then Norway has the strictest laws about multivitamins/multi minerals, first in 2018 B-12 drops of 2,000ug were legal.

I have stage 3 chronic kidney disease; So I assume I should (not) try to add potassium to my diet. Correct?
When I had my first kidney stone they stated spinich is one of those foods that cause stones but its high in potassium
Why are blood tests restricted to a Doctors script, Dr Berg?
I can't get even an insulin test, which is only $10 here and the Doctors refuse HOMA-IR, insulin and any other tests I could use to figure out and solve my problems. (they don't care to try anything useful, just push their drugs, even if the drug would kill you)
??? I started Keto 2 weeks ago and have lost 15 lbs at the expense of a sharp constant pain in my left kidney area, which I believe is a kidney stone. I’m confused by which high potassium foods to eat and which to avoid.

7- 10 cups veggies how much is that in weight, gram??
Over here in Canada the measurements for vegetables are in grams. So how many grams would be the equivalent of 10 cups?
I currently eat one 350g package of Broccoli w/ meal #1, and a 350g package of Cauliflower w/ my second meal.
Since I only eat two meals a day I can't imagine eating much more veggies then that save for the usual tomatoes/garlic/onions I add to whatever main course I'm having.
