I think I have this
had the vision, color in 2001, and lately twice this December; ophthalmic brain aneurisms;, stroke in 2001 and stroke in June 2018; and Maze heart surgery in September. Don't knot if there is connection, but it is scary again to see the lights again
Scariest experience of my life I thought someone spiked me with LSD!!
Ok so how do you fix this I can’t see anything to my left
I am experiencing a bright, colorful, blinking "light show" on the right side of my right eye. Still able to see directly in front of me, this time anyway. Thankfully, very little headache occurs each time.
It would be funny asf if a representation of the ocular migraine getting bigger and bigger in the video to scare you
Everyday I see white/black/blue stars pop up here and there, flashes, afterimages. Eyes are structurally fine according to two opticians and an eye specialist. Got a neurologist appointment next year. Drives me crazy sometimes, headaches most days.
Probably 10 years ago I was sitting at my computer when I noticed a green flashing light off to the side, when I tried to look at it….or focus on it…….it moved. But it was still there, just at the edge of my field of vision. Then another one appeared next to it…..then another, and another…..until they formed a complete circle. I was looking through the circle, but could not look directly at the lights because they would move out of the way when I would try to look at them if you know what I mean. THEN, everything inside the circle of green flashing lights became VERY blurry, as if I were looking through opaque glass. It scared the living HELL out of me. I was probably 49-50 years old, and I thought I was having a stroke! Never had a headache or any discomfort with it……just the visual effects. It scared me so bad that I didn't even say anything about it to my wife who was in the same room, I just got up and went outside and smoked a cigarette. I smoked a few in fact while I was out there. After about 20 minutes my vision cleared and went back inside and called my mom. Yeah, I was 50 and I called my mom to tell her about it…..how pathetic is that? Told her about my symptoms over the phone, told her everything that had just happened, and she said……Oh, you just had an eye migrane, welcome to the club, I get them all the time, nothing to worry about……….. Did some research on the internet and found my symptoms to the TEE!!! The info that I was able to find online was more than adequate to put my mind at ease…….so much so that I didn't even feel any need to see a doctor. That was 10 years ago, and it only happened that ONE time…..has not happened since. Oh, and I have no history of having migraine headaches at all.
This was very helpful. Glad this video was posted. Now I feel less weird about my migraines not being painful.
I had a buddy who utilized this particular eye floaters treatment “gofam shocking press” (Google it) with good results. Individuals who would like to get rid of the lines and dots in their perspective should get this treatment method, since I also recommended this to my other friends and the outcomes were perfect for them, as well. The product should get a thumbs up!
This explains exactly what happened to me when I was in my Spanish class. I was freaking out
I am having one right now and I had one two days ago 🙁
I just had one ten minutes ago. And it scared the life out of me. And it’s giveing me a crazy head ack. And I didn’t know what it was until my dear old grandmother informed me of optical migraine
I had a PCA stroke involving the areas he was talking about. The auras I experience aren't painful, but they make me incredibly dizzy (sit or have to lay down for it to resolve, which can take hours). The auras come at random. Because these auras are so disabling I stay home, as there's nowhere to rest if there's a bad attack. They also are accompanied by streaks of lights that aren't like lightning, the entire FoV is covered by them.
Hopefully there's some treatment in the future for central vision problems. PCA strokes are the worst for visual disturbances and processing disorders, and there's nothing they can do about it (pills don't remove the static and all).
I have had them for 8 years off and on but with no migraine and they always last almost exactly 20 mins.I used to be scared but now have accepted they will dissipate and are just a nuance not an hindrance anymore as I carry on working or do what I normally do but watching tv is a pain as constantly shimmering in my eyes.I wonder as I had a bad fall on my head as a child and a vestibular nerve section so the operation may have caused it.Breath deep say you are not going to ruin my day unless you have the migraine headache as well then you may have to rest in a dark environment.Stay positive.
Every time I get a migraine, I get these kinds of things. I just really scares me when I have to deal with these kinds of headaches, vision losses, stomach aches, fevers, etc. Usually when I get it, it starts like 3 or 4 hours after I wake up and I would wake up feeling normal and then when I get these kinds of eye floaters, it just causes me to have migraines, fever, and stomach aches. Sometimes, I get them well I'm sleeping and I wake up super sick. It is really scary because it usually happens to me just randomly at anytime unless if I drink lots and lots of water. Drinking a certain amount of water is what keeps my migraines and eye floaters from happening. So I guess every time I get a migraine, it turns out to be ocular migraine. I had my first ocular migraine when I was coming home from school back in 4th grade, it was pretty scary for me because I did not know what the hell was going on, I started freaking out. My mom asked me if I was okay, so then I said, "I think something's wrong with my eye vision, I can't see clearly and I keep seeing lightning bolt shaped eye floating objects blinding me out." So my parents rushed me to the hospital and that is when they confirmed that I had an ocular migraine and my doctor told me that it can happen anytime. I was pretty scared for my life after I was told that. I Thanks for making this video, I highly appreciate it.
some times my eyes one side blind then heavy head ache what i do
I get the one as if I looked into a camera flash and it lingers around for a few minutes and when I blink or move my hand in front of my vision it brightens up!!
I think i have ocular migraine .
Starts with my head hurting in the front and then followed by total static like blindness in both eyes think of tv static but negative all black and white like static then my strength i feel it just fade like none at all.
And I remember when I was a kid before I first got it I could hear in my head near my ears on both sides something like wings of a bug just flapping around but no pain then a sudden jolt of harsh pain but over the years I've felt less pain and less.
I still go blind and have a headache and lost of strength. 😐
3rd day in a row for me. i just finished 14 rounds of whole brain radiation. Cancer sucks!
HI Ive had ocular migraine for many years however today for 5 hrs Ive had a persistent floater type black spot in my left sight of vision that moves when I move my eyes. I went to the dr he examined my eyes and said he was 99% sure it was part of the ocular migraine. Its different however to what Ive normally experienced, any comments?
I see those flash lights then a big headache the back of my eyes hurt a lot . Sound and light makes it worser . Then I start throwing up a lot .
Half of the people here are LUCKY!
My Ocular Migraines make me faint along with a dizzy migraine, Full vision loss, weakness to my body and a few other problems. The Frist time I had A ocular Migraine I fainted and my head hit the stairs.
i go COMPLETELY BLIND …help. :-/
I think there needs to be more awareness about this! The first one that I had {that I was aware of) was very frightening. I was trying to read, which is a big part of my job, and the words on the page kept breaking up and seemed to run away as I tried to read them. I thought I was going crazy, having some kind of hallucination! A few minutes later I told a coworker that I had lost part of my vision, and she looked at me like I was crazy and kept on walking. I have glaucoma and was afraid I was having a retinal detachment. I sat alone in my office, wondering if I should call 911 or at least my doctors–and it went away. Later (though not the same day) I had an appointment with my ophthalmologist and he explained what it had been. I have realized that I had been having very mild versions of this for years, perhaps even back to my teens. I had thought the "pinwheels" I saw were just because I had come in from the bright outdoors into a dark, environment. Anyway, within the last couple of years, my older sister had one, too, and she also was frightened.
How can this be differentiated from optic neuritis?
I have had it all my life and it won't go away, like all day every day for all of my life, I see bright flashing coloured lines moving everywhere and they are getting worse, More in the dark and in the light what can this be I need help
I have this every day all day in my right eye only. The flashes of light come every now and theb, maybe five times a day. I'm really tired of it. Does anyone know if surgery can remove it? Will I ever get my Normal vision back in my right eye? ?
