Using compression on a slipped disc is beneficial because it helps to realign the vertebra. Try using a wooden roller to cure your back pain! Lie flat on your back and put the wood roller under the lumbar vertebra. Start gently and release the weight of your body onto the roller. This herniated disc exercise is very effective for pain relief. Do it several time per day for as long as it take to get relief for your slipped disc!

When you sit for long periods of time you KNOW you’ll get low back pain! This may cause sciatica because it’s pinching the sciatic nerve. This back pain treatment doing herniated disc exercises focuses on straightening up lumbar vertebrae so that you don’t pinch the nerves!

If you have health insurance, you may opt for the surgery but I wouldn’t! I’d try the herniated disc exercises just to see if they might work first. Thank you so much for posting this Brett. I'm 53 years old and my state medicaid program wouldn't permit a chiropractor when my back hurt after improperly lifting a small refrigerator, which was too heavy for me to lift alone. Pain and stiffness got progressively worse over the next several months so I started looking on Youtube for help. I imagined that I had probably caused a protruding disc in my lower back, but tried several exercises that chiropractors on Youtube recommended for this and none helped.

When I found this video I felt I had nothing to lose. Around the house I found a heavy cardboard cylinder which had several yards of unused upholstery wrapped around it. It was probably five or six inches in diameter. I imitated Brett's demo, which did not feel particularly good, but the level of discomfort seemed "good" rather than indicative of harming myself.

Afterwards I stood up pain free for the first time in months! It was a kind of "miracle" for me. When I went to my family doctor today he tested me out and said my vertebrae were aligned just fine and that there was no need for X-rays. I believe my issue was actually some kind of misalignment caused by lifting, and this exercise did something that realigned my back. Wow! I'm as pain free as I was before I lifted the weight that injured me. I am lucky to have learned a lesson about not lifting too much (and improperly), without having to pay a permanent price. Thanks for this amazing self remedy!

Thank you sir , I have pain in my right leg the doctors says that you have l5 s1 problem ! is this exercise is useful for ?

Andy Jardin says:

How often should we do these exercises? Everyday or every few days?

Roy says:

I have spinal stenosis due to bulged L4-5. What you're saying sorta makes sense but how does the roller reach the disc? There are other structures in the way like the facet joints and the spinal canal etc.

JIMJAMSC says:

Be VERY careful doing these "exercises" unless someone hopefully with knowledge or to assist you if you have a negative response. To many issues to list but mainly l5/s1 area with damaged nerves. I recall attempted to roll on a small ball which triggered a massive pain spike that had me in the fetal position for hours. Another on a roller set off a audible "crunch" that caused my entire right leg to burn and then go numb. Within a week I had a series of mri scans and my neurologist said firmy "Don't ever do that again." I have several areas of severe stenosis and a damaged sciatic nerve and the entire area was "unstable". So before you go laying flat on a hard surface and allowing someone to stand on your chest or bear hug you in a attempt to "crack" you stiff back "old school stuff", you really want to find out what is going on before you injure yourself or irritate a healing injury. Just my 1/2 mil in surgeries worth.-

Yup.
That will work if the disk herniated out the back.
But if for some reason you herniated out the side…. do not do this exercise… you can make it worse

Thank you! Thank you! My back started hurting badly over my New Years time off. I couldn't function like I need to. I gave this a try, three vertebrae gently went back into place and I felt SO MUCH BETTER!! Today I was lifting 80# bags of sand, (because I had to) standing up straight. This made me realize I've had the problem much longer than when it became acute because I was so weak in the past picking up bags of sand and couldn't stand straight before. Now I'm standing so much straighter in general also. I must be taller for sure! I'm having to continue to use the roller while I heal and will from now on! I'll never forget this! It must feel good to be helping so many people. Because of your help I recently purchased three of your products. The Soother, Foot Friend, and Shindig. Can't wait to get them! That is something else you helped me with! My lower legs. They feel so much better!! But I can't wait to have a better tool for them. Thank you.

Ghadir Baghajati says:
