Her diamond was gone forever. It won’t happen again.

Victoria’s engagement ring lost its central diamond after more than 30 years of wear. The head holding the stone snapped off due to a small mistake made by the original jeweler. She was heartbroken about it but I was able to replace her diamond and properly install a new head on her ring, taking my time to ensure the new head was well adhered to the shank. I’m confident this stone will last the rest of her life.

😢I lost my moms wedding set years ago. She was divorced and never got mad or anything. She's gone now but it still bothers me.

I just lost the 2 carat marquise diamond from my engagement ring about 2 weeks ago. I’m devastated!

this is my worst nightmare. not being able to afford to hypothetically replace the stone(s) is a whole other type of anxiety

Did you know that diamonds are one of the most common gemstones in the world. However, companies like De Beers only release enough diamonds onto the market to meet annual demand, creating the appearance that diamonds were rarer than they actually were, enabling them to inflate diamond prices.

I lost a quarter carat diamond/silver earring 30 years ago. Really sucked. The diamond was from a friend of my father who was killed in Vietnam.

I have a single diamond missing from the center of my promise ring my husband gave me YEARS ago. I have since found THREE diamonds in my carpet, taken them to be tested and everything… and they don’t fit my ring…. But none of my other jewelry is missing any diamonds so I have been hanging onto them to possibly make something for our daughter for when she’s older (: I’ll take the loss on the center stone if it means there’s a chance at another beautiful piece being made out of the others! 😊

I cried. It was a special gift from my first partner and I had it put in a claddagh ring my parents gave me in 8th grade. I was working in a pharmacy and it was in my ring when I went to work and gone when I came home. I had it replaced with a ruby. But I was heartbroken as it had sentimental significance.

My mom lost her whole wedding ring once. Her hands were cold and she didn’t feel it slip off. She actually Found it in the driveway about 5 years later

LOL being poor, ugly and alone for my whole 60 years means I've never had to worry about rings, engagement or otherwise. I don't own one piece of jewelry but it's nice to watch videos and dream. My mother had lovely jewelry but my two sisters got her power of attorney and stole every single piece of it valued at about $55,000. If you are lucky enough to own nice things make sure you take care of it and value it.

well first off id get 0.99 or 0.98 carat cus they cheaper and visually identical to the naked eye

I'd probably just shrug and replace it with a cheap replica or find something actually meaningful to put in there – over time you collect all sorts of trinkets and crap – a rock, a loose tooth, glass, lug nut from a car you had.
