HOUSE TOUR: Inside Teddie Garrigan's Maximalist Dallas Home

On today’s episode of Homeworthy, we’re bringing you inside Coco & Dash co-owner Teddie Garrigan’s worldly Dallas apartment. Growing up in a military family, Teddie spent much of her childhood exposed to the wonderful architecture of Europe. Her experiences traveling, coupled with her namesake aunt’s approach to design, spurred Teddie’s love for interior decorating and hospitality.

Living in a high rise apartment posed a unique challenge for Teddie in bringing elements of nature into her home. Vibrant greens, scenic landscape murals and pops of animal print fabrics mimic the environments and cultures Teddie grew especially fond of while living abroad. A collector of decommissioned museum artwork, each room is thoughtfully layered with beautiful paintings and prints – some of which Teddie has painted herself. A soft white paint coats the entire apartment, shining a light on Teddie’s assemblage of antique furnishings, family mementos and her husband’s vast array of books. Enjoy!

  1. I love this maximalist home which is cozy without being suffocating! Love the master bedroom and her own bathroom not shared! Lovely lady… truly a woman of the world.

  2. Love the idea to put photos in a lovely basket, instead of an album ????????

  3. Such a pleasure meeting Teddie. She is a lovely, lovely woman who has created a beautiful, cozy and ever so interesting home. I appreciated it when she said that her home made her feel "super secure". I've never heard that before from a decorator but I can imagine walking in her front door and immediately feeling that way. I really enjoyed this visit.

  4. Beautiful home with unique and treasured collectibles. Love her style and thoughtful design suggestions. Her art collection is lovely as well. ty

  5. Lovely home and she is lovely too. Excellent choices in everything. Could be a bit more on the cozier side for me, but so many things to love and that I would choose. Layered perfectly and enough of an English vibe (but not too overbearing) that it’s in my top 7 favorites on Home Worthy. Thank you for sharing you beautiful home. You’re an Excellent decorator.

  6. Teddy, you might not know this, but your Venetian style secretary belonged to Iris Barrel Apfel and I dusted it so many time on the 8th floor of the D&D building at her company, Old World Weavers in New York City, back in the late 80’s. It later went to auction after it did not sell. Iris had it repainted in the coral and green motif over in Long Island City in her workshop and warehouse where she and Carl stocked fabrics and antiques. Seeing it in your home was like seeing an old friend. I am glad you love it. You are such a charming and adorable woman. I love your home. Cheers! Dean Yoder
