  1. By the way, I've recently reached 200k subscribers. Just wanted to say thank you so much!! ❤❤

    RECIPE ⬇️

    Potato Vareniki (Koldūnai)

    Dough:
    250g flour
    1/2 tsp salt
    2 tbsp oil
    140g hot water

    Filling:

    400g potatoes
    1 onion
    20g mature cheddar cheese (optional)
    1/2 tsp salt
    Pepper

    Additional:

    Broth
    Fresh dill
Sour cream (vegan yogurt+lemon for a vegan version)

    Method:

    For the dough:
Mix all of the ingredients together until it forms a smooth dough. Knead for a few minutes, wrap in cling foil and put it in the fridge for around 30 minutes.

    For the filling:
    1. Boil the potatoes until tender.
    2. Fry the onion with a generous amount of salt and pepper until slightly golden.
    3. Mash the potatoes, onions, and cheese (if using) together. Adjust the seasoning. Set aside to cool.

    Shape the dumpling:
    1. Divide the dough in half and roll it out. Keep the other half covered in cling foil.
    2. Using a cookie cutter or a small bowl and cut out as many round shapes as you can.
    3. Add around 1 tsp of the filling over each round piece. Fold over in half and pinch together so there are no gaps. You can use a fork to go over the edges to seal it further or pinch it every 1/2 cm with your finger to create a nice wrinkly effect.
    4. Drop them into salted boiling water and cook for around 5-6 minutes.
    5. At this point you can either fry them and serve with sour cream and dill or in a broth.

  2. I feel you. The lack of sense is difficult to bear. It’s okay if your life is pretty easy and you like living but without that, it’s hard. The fact to be alone and in an unfamiliar environment was the nail on the coffin for you. I’m happy that you survived it.

  3. Keep up the work ✌️

    Greetings from Göttingen

Ps: man labai labai patinka žiūrėti šį vaikystę primenantį contenta. Ateinančias dienas pabandysiu draugei kažką panaušaus pagaminti nes jinai (vegetarė,turinti celiakija)
nelabai dar turėjo šansų paragauti lietuviškų gardumynų

  4. Is all your videos about being a victim and your body, while making boring food?

  5. I just ate a pickled cucumber soup that I cooked after watching your “comfort food” post.
Thanks for inspiring me to do so!

I also know well how overwhelming being an Ausländerin can be, glad to hear you made it through

  6. Good to hear you find peace when cooking and that makes your healing progress to healthy terms.
Been battling it for decades, comes&goes without calling! Some days feels like it gets better but when you’re drained in all matter, suddenly feels like you’re back on the wagon. My depression found a method to institutionalize when I was really young and by youth, it was taboo to voice out.
I believe everyone has depression in their genes for generations now and dealing with this while in 2025 is a slow gain to trust conventional treatments.
My go-to escape is finding laughter so I’ll look for anything that puts a smile in me👍

  7. Always remember: life is a Rollercoaster, the bad times are remembered more often and more intensely than the good ones. This is literally evolutionary imprinted in our human nature.
If you're always aware of this, life is easier. Just because there are bad times doesn't mean it has to stay that way forever, come on. Just like in good times. One temporary outcome just seems more real and permanent, thank God for our caveman brain still stuck in survival mode 🫠

  8. Realizing it is one thing. Accepting and being honest about it is another thing. And damn more difficult to do and to deal with. So to everyone struggling out there, shame is never necessary, helpful or efficient in any way. And you absolutely never owe anyone being ashamed of yourself.

  9. Varenikis that look like Pelmenis
    Crazy 😅

But I know that it tastes is delicious, even if the form has been swapped 😅

    приятного аппетита

    = Enjoy your meal

  10. First of all those look amazing. I get lazy and do not fold seam mine. Secondly thank you for talking about your mental health in a positive way. If we as a society ignore that members are indeed in need of help there is way to much damage done. Lastly anytime I have dumplings with sour cream and dill I remember my youth with my late grandmother. Which is to say I have it a lot as I loved her so very dearly.

  11. Are you sure this is the right amount of flour, I'm trying to make the dumplings now, they look fantastic, Nomante 🙂 but 250 g flour to 140 g water is dough runny as a soup…

  12. Same. After 3 years of living abroad, I finally start to rediscover my own personality. It’s been there, it’s just been hard to see it, especially as it didn’t seem to fit into the new reality. And yes, cooking (and eating better!) helps a lot! To any expat reading this: your time will come.

  13. Question. What happens if you don’t put oil in the dough mixture? What does the oil do?

  14. This hits harder than I thought it would. I moved from the states to the Philippines 6 months ago and this video really is resonating. And you are absolutely right, while I'm loving the new food and culture, it's really completely upside down for me. Luckily I have someone that has been helping me adjust my life.

  15. When we moved it took my mom about 6 years to fully feel home in the bew City and area we lived in. So yeah adapting to a new environment and also new country really takes its time. Dislocation in general is a huge predictor of depression and also suicide. So if you move please keep an eye on your health and approach help if you don't feel good at all. Because it will get better. You sometimes just need time to adapt ❤
