  1. Goes to show that because of how diners that went away did so because they just were not simply the best of the best because the market decided that. Those that stayed open even to this day established how much of a necessity it is for the locals to keep showing up. Those that didn't achieve this status were just considered an option and those that were considered options are quickly forgotten. I hope they can keep this up even as we get more and more ghost kitchens involved and things get delivered to instead of going into places like this.

  2. been here a couple times and live less than 10 minutes away, one thing i'll say is the garlic bread is my best memory ????

  3. wow i moved out of jersey a week ago and I’m already thinking of what am i going to do without a good jersey diner (tops specifically)

  4. A diner that makes its own veal stock for brown gravy?! I'd be more keen to call this establishment an upscale restaurant. This is an impressive place and all of the chefs and cooks seem top-tier!

  5. Jersey diners are the best! My fave was Tick Tock Diner on route 3, did all nighter clubbing in NYC, then to Tick Tock for breakfast as the sun was coming up. Great food and good times, definitely need to try Top's.

  6. I live not to far from Tops and I eat there at least 3 times a week. Best food ever. The only thing I won't order is a Philly cheese steak. And being a native of Philly it would be on orthodox to eat a cheese steak anywhere else other than Philly. ????✌????

  7. For sure the real deal, been several times and they are the primer dinner in NJ,

  8. I prefer this method of showcasing restaurants and chefs ! Not interviewing as you go and actually showing an array of plates ! Nice ????

  9. Tops was a late night college staple at NJIT. A bunch of friends used to go every year after graduating for “Topstoberfest”. Haven’t been back since they rebuilt!
