Thank you!!
thanks for your tips.
Could have used more vent cleaning instructions and less how to buy and assemble a sheet metal one from Ace. My vents are deep and itโs caked on
1. Why does lint even happen? 2. There's a lint alert thingy? 3. Why can't things just be simple? Why would a contractor build a vent that has to blow lint UPwards? Why wouldn't ALL dryers be placed on exterior walls? Why would someone decide to build a room on the back of the laundry room and HAVE to put in a vent that is now over 8 ft. long and has a turn angle and worse, they put a sheetrock cover over it????
Mostly useless video. It only explains how to clean the part that connects to the dryer and the first few inches of the vent where it exits the home. It doesn't actually explain how to clean the whole vent line at all.
I disconnect the vent line, take it outside and spray the inside with my water hose at medium pressure ( after loosening with a vent brush
I then drain/dry reconnect and run at cold temp to check airflow and further dry.
Thank you everyone for your knowledge.
For accuracy's sake, at the 2:00 mark where the duct hose is attached to the back of the dryer, the video should show that the duct hose is too small for the dryer outlet and therefore does not fit. The video should then show the person staring at both the dryer outlet and the duct hose, trying to figure out how to get a 4" hose onto a 4" outlet. He finally takes some tin snips and tries to widen the duct hose with a couple of short cuts. What happens is the duct hose frays and even if it did slide onto the dryer outlet, it would not make for a good seal. He tries recutting again but the same thing happens, it frays. Now there are bits of aluminum on the table and a duct hose that still does not fit over the dryer outlet. Now he goes to the internet and tries to figure out if there is some easy-on attachment or adapter. He finds some possibilities at the $50 level but isn't sure if any of those will actually fit the dryer outlet and/or the wall exhaust pipe. The video is now 1 1/2 hours long rather than 3 minutes, so I suppose showing what actually happens is not really practical.
I visited my neighborhood Ace and I got kicked out for not wearing a mask. ๐ I have a past injury to a lung that makes it difficult to breathe with a mask on my face. But the helpful hardware folks donโt care.
She said my diameter is 4 inches
This video didn't show how to clean the vents. It talked about replacing thee vent lines. Please be accurate with your titles.
As a Europen this is too much for me since we use n o r m a l dryers
But still a very great video
I hear throwing a match into the vent will get the lint out too..
I smell a fyar…I thought the neighbors was barbequin…oh load Jesus it's a faw…I ran..out I have bronchitis! Ain't nobody got time for dat!
You know guys just wanted to say big Thank you for consistency..Nearly every time I watch I tell myself what a bunch of garbage.

Thanks for the tutorial ๐
I shop at LeBlanc's ACE Hardware in Manchester N.H. I saw another video on this topic that was 16 minutes long. Then I noticed this one that is under 3 minutes. I chose to watch this one. Good choice it turns out . Good info, short and sweet.
